  • Peaceful Lancashire holiday park with spectacular views of Pendle Hill
  • Gisburn Forest 20 minutes’ drive; Clitheroe and Skipton 25 minutes
  • Gym and mini-store on site; barbecues allowed; pub five minutes’ walk
Can’t decide between the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales National Park? Well, that’s not a problem at Ribble Valley Country and Leisure Park, as it sits about 15 minutes’ drive away from both. And that’s not all, as this prettily landscaped and rural Lancashire retreat has views over dramatic Pendle Hill, infamous for a witchcraft trial that took place nearby in 1612. Ribble Valley is also handy for countryside strolls in Gisburn Forest (20 minutes’ drive), family walks from Malham village to its landmark cove (half an hour) or challenging cycle rides through spectacular forested landscapes. If you fancy an urban day out, hit up historic Clitheroe or tour the castle at Skipton (both 25 minutes). On those days when you don’t feel like wandering much further than your accommodation, you still won’t run out of things to do. Keep up the fitness regime in the gym, get little minds working with board games in the relaxation room or let them loose on the playing field. Catering-wise, barbecues are allowed on site (stock up on supplies from the mini-market), and there’s also a pub five minutes’ walk away if you’d rather someone else did the hard graft in the kitchen.
