Liked: We didn't travel with children but this campsite is one of the most family friendly I've ever seen: there are dens and nets and swings and hammocks everywhere and the children we saw were clearly having a fabulous time living their best lives with complete freedom. The setting is lovely and even though it's a busy site the pitches are generous so you don't feel on top of each other. The general vibe is super-chilled, green and friendly. The facilities are well kept and we never queued as plenty of them are dotted around everywhere. The warden and owner were really responsive when one larger group got a little excitable, and the service was of that same exacting standard throughout the stay, from the detailed pre-visit email, to the Pimms on arrival and the bellhop out... The Friday special pizzas were yummy and the bell hop service was definitely well worth it, as the site is so spread out, we recommend both. We bought logs as well and they were dry and burned really well. All in all a lovely spot and a lovely stay, we would return and recommend to others.
Disliked: We stayed in the woodland which was so beautiful but we happened to stay at the same time as a few larger groups and the echo within the woods combined with the numbers (and all the lovely exciting play things) made it feel a little like trying to relax in the middle of a playground. This isn't a bad thing necessarily, but it's worth noting if you are looking for tranquility and quiet, as you may be frustrated by the shouting across and around camp (campmates depending!). If peaceful is what you are after, the meadows might be a quieter bet. Despite the lively play going on in the day and evening, it did tend to quiet down between 10pm and 6am.

Liked: Lovely chilled vibe, almost feels like wild camping. Brilliant not having cars on site and the wheelbarrows are fab for transporting kit (and babies!) We had a great stay here with our 7 month old - spacious plots means we didn't have to worry about disturbing the neighbours if she cried. Lovely friendly wardens. Would definitely stay again if we're in the area!

Liked: Friendly and welcoming, attractive site, well placed for the coast. Home-cooked pizza on Friday nights is a nice touch. Pitches are widely spaced.
Disliked: I liked the compost loos and the shower was hot, but both would have benefited from more regular cleaning.

Liked: We chose this campsite partly because it was close to London and we wanted a short weekend break. We were delighted to find our whole weekend surpassed our expectations. We received a very warm welcome on arrival and the pre-booking communications about the campsite and booking pizza were excellent too. The campsite was green and peaceful with a choice of forest or meadow pitches and we had chosen meadow. The campsite was well set up with water collection points, washing up areas and a selection of toilets (chemical or composting) along with shower stations. (You do need to remember to bring your own pot scrubber). Leaving the cars parked away from the pitches and using the wheelbarrows helped make the experience even more special. The other campers were friendly and polite. There was a fun family atmosphere with lots of young children running about to and from the forest areas and they seemed to be generally rejoicing in their freedom. The campsite wasn't noisy and you could certainly do your own thing and enjoy your own space. There's lots to do close by with Hastings just minutes away. We enjoyed swims at the beach, walking at Hastings Country Park and walking into Hastings for lunch. We had invited our 'VIP' guest who was a 14 year old girl who had never been camping and who had been somewhat anxious about the weekend but she returned home thrilled with her camping induction. Thank you Pop-Up Woods and Meadows Campsite

Liked: Vinnie was super friendly on arrival, we were offered a mini complimentary pimms whilst he explained the campsite and where our pitch was. Beautiful views.
Disliked: Unfortunately there was a large school group in the woods so we were unable to make use of the hammocks or explore as much as we would have liked. More toilets would be ideal - there was only 2 in our field and they were right next to other peoples tents which we weren’t too keen on.

Liked: We had the most Fabulous time this weekend! The campsite was really welcoming from the moment we arrived ( complimentary pimms on arrival) 😁 They showed us to our pitch in the woods. Our 4 year old daughter loved it! The hammocks in the trees, the nets for climbing and the trees for hide and seek with the little friends she made. We ordered the pizza for Saturday night before we arrived. We ate it around our campfire. We had a lovely, relaxing break. The toilets were basic, but really clean and smelled really nice ( random, but they did!) It was a rustic approach to washing up and showering, but the shower was beautifully hot and had amazing views out the top of the door. I could see trees, and fields while I showered! Body wash and washing up liquid was avaliable, as they like you to use paraben free ones, which was helpful. Everyone camping there seemed to be having a good time. From families to friends having a catch up without kids I would highly recommend and we will definitely be going back! Our 4 year old is already asking, " when will we sleep in the woods again?"

Liked: Really friendly on arrival, super chilled, we had a great spot, just outside lower field, all to ourselves. I was rubbish at making the fire, and the staff helped me with that!
Disliked: Loved the eco vibe, but a nearer loo would have been ace. Also my dog was tethered and others weren’t, so they came up for a sniff, and she wasn’t comfortable and that was a little bit stressful!
