Liked: Nothing
Disliked: We have just returned from staying here we booked 4 nights but only stayed 2, unfortunatly it was not as advertised. The description stated gas & electric, WiFi, BBQ, fire pit & firewood, beanbags etc. the only thing there was the bell tent. We didn’t bring a bbq as it said there was one provided. There is two showers but one was broken and the one that apparently worked only ran cold water which I wouldn’t have put young children under. The toilets are basics but unheigenic, there was a small bin full to the top with used sanitary products. One toilet is a ‘shed’ - it is full of work tools and unlocked so my young daughter opened it expecting a toilet which is really dangerous. There is one bin on the filed which is overflowing. There is one outside sink for washing up but has no hot water just cold. We asked for electric and they brought out an extension lead which was then put inside a bag for life and was told everyone had to leave their devices outside in it which understandably no one wanted to do. We were barked at and followed by large dogs on multiple occasions and had a husky come into our tent, my youngest is absolutely terrified of dogs so this was really horrible for her and obviously we had no idea if they were friendly or not. On our second night we heard another family complaining about all of the same things. I believe she called the female owner and she was really rude over the phone to her. We left without complaining face to face as we only saw the owners once in 48 hours and to be honest they aren’t approachable at all. I emailed him once home and his response was incredibly unprofessional and rude and he’s not willing to resolve the situation. I will be contacting the local council as this camp site does not meet requirements having looked into it. The description of what is available has since changed and they have removed a few of the things like bean bags but there will be no bbq or fire pit so please don’t expect it. I mainly don’t want other people to book a holiday here and be just as disappointed as us especially as we had travelled 4.5 hours to visit. It is over priced for what they provide and the fact they are not nice people makes it even worse. I believe reviews are mostly fake as if you look one says they did not use the shower but some how knew the temperature was perfect for a ‘wild wash’ I find the fact this campsite isn’t on Facebook or trip advisor should have alarm bells ringing!!

From the manager: Sadly this review was left by a rather dishonest booking group, they stayed the entire break that was paid for, ignoring us when we tried to meet and greet with them, smiled to our faces when asked if all was ok, then decided to demand a full refund by blackmailing us with threats of a bad review, we were caring for a terminally ill family member at the time of this stay, and decided to keep the campsite open for all the other guests who had booked and wanted to enjoy their summer break, this was explained to all guests, these individuals have zero compassion for others and I would warn any other site to seriously Consider accepting them. Their pictures show a busy working wild campsite It was a coincidence that this same weeekend sanitary wear was discarded inside the tent and excrement left in a shower tray.
Perfect Family WILD Camping Experience! Look forward to coming again!

Bell tent (large)
Liked: 110% recommend for your WILD camp out! When driving to the campsite don't turn down to the Carthvean Alpacas keep going till you see a gate on the left turning and your there! If you look closely, you'll see the tops of the tents! The road is bumpy with potholes as are many Cornish farm back lanes so if you're not used to it, I suggest you drive slowly and enjoy the ride. We are a family of 6 with kids ranging from 5-12. Arriving to the site we were greeted by the lovely Jasper with his carrot toy awaiting some attention. The kids loved playing fetch with him, and he was a delight to have around when he sneaked over to see us a couple times! Meeting the owners (sorry never asked names) they both made us feel welcome. It was great turning up having the tent and beds ready to go! The little extras in the tent i.e., plates, cups etc came in handy when our camping plastic knifes didn't do the job (We booked the large bell tent furnished with bed frames) Next time we hope to book the Safiri tent without bed frames so we can push the beds together and all snuggle to warm up after star gazing which by the way this is the perfect place for it!! Although we didn't use the showers as we only slept there two nights, we would be very have been happy with the shower provided. Not freezing cold perfect for a wild camp wash! The toilets are proper compost toilets. So lovely to see something so back to basics! Plus, the kids thought 'flushing' with a scoop of sawdust was weirdly cool! There is a sink with running water to give dishes and hands etc a rinse off. We took out gas hobs to cook tea and boil water for coffees and hot chocs on site after eating out during the day. There was a spot to plug in electrics in the corner I believe but we didn't use it as we had portable chargers for our phones plus for us the point of wild camping is not stare at the tiny screens that control us on a daily basis. We are already planning to book again and will recommend to friends and family looking for the WILD back to basics camping experience! We hope Jasper found his new bone we hunted down and popped by the gate after our 'Bone hunting walk' in the field! Thank you so much for having us! We look forward to seeing you all again soon!! The Clifford's.
Disliked: We had nothing to dislike. We did overhear another group that clearly expected 'Glamping' with electric in tents, no wildlife/bugs and well everything their house has.... This is an amazing WILD CAMPING spot!!! Thank you again!!

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked: Loved the relaxed come and go. The lady that ran the place took the time to chat and enabled me to feel right at home.
Disliked: The booking said I would have a firepit on my pitch.. but no ? Perhaps it would have been supplied if I questioned?

From the manager: Many thanks for your lovely review, im sorry about the fire pit misunderstanding, we changed the listing last year to ALLOW fire pits not provide them as they were getting damaged and going missing, it must still be somewhere in the listing, we will address this, but would have gladly lent you our personal one, we do hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay 😊
Great place - will book again and bring a group with us!

Liked: Friendly hosts and atmosphere, felt safe and the tent was very comfortable.
Disliked: The shower temperatures were a bit temperamental… ranged from too hot to perfect to a bit cold. Could do with a hook for your towel on the door.

From the manager: Was so lovely to host you and your family, we have noted the shower issue, and will be upgrading them for next year. Look forward to welcoming you back 😊

Liked: Even though Claire was away on holiday herself she still called to inform us that she away but someone would be there to greet us. Unfortunately we had to leave early due to a family emergency but... The tent itself was spacious, and surprisingly warm during the night especially with the thick duvets provided. Everything you need is provided (the only suggestion I will make is that a box of some sort is provided to put plates, cups, cutlery in as unfortunately ours had a few bugs in amongst them so we didn't use them) Peaceful location.
Disliked: It wasn't sign posted very well which led us to taking the wrong turning. (follow the signs for the cottage not the farm) The track leading to the site definitely need filling in. We couldn't connect to the wifi but not entirely sure if there was an issue with it or if I misheard the password.
