  • On the Lizard Peninsula with a huge range of family facilities
  • Indoor and outdoor heated pools; pirate-themed crazy golf; soft play
  • Activities including evening entertainment, family films, kids' clubs
Smugglers’ coves, gorgeous beaches, fishing ports and colourful market towns await you at this park on the Lizard Peninsula. Lizard Point Holiday Park (formerly known as Mullion Holiday Park) is a firmly family-friendly site, so there's a great selection of facilities, including heated outdoor (open from May to mid-September) and indoor pools (where visitors can also book in for PADI diving lessons), a plethora of sporting activities, modern bars and restaurants, and all-singing, all-dancing action in the entertainment club. The littlies will have a ball in the pools (and slides, chutes and tunnels) of the Crazy Caves soft play area, and the pirate-themed crazy golf course and outdoor adventure playground should provide gallons of giggles too. A kids' library, family film screenings and the assortment of goings on at the various kids’ clubs means there’s plenty to keep them occupied whatever the weather (although the Lizard is the most southerly point in the UK, so if it’s going to turn out nice anywhere, it should be here).

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Location of camp and bus stop outside.

Disliked: Was given a grass pitch which we immediately got stuck on and was told there was nobody to tow us out until the next day. Luckily a fellow called John who worked at the site came to our rescue. The pitches should be closed if not useable. The toilets were tired and dirty shower wasn’t hot and stopped the minute you took your hand off the button.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Swimming pool was brilliant and a nice temperature. Entertainment was good for little ones Good selection of activities Good location close to coastal attractions and town nearby Toilet/shower block was very clean Grass pitches were well looked after it looked in great condition even after horrid weather.

Disliked: Took a while to check in because reception was full of customers waiting to complain about cleanliness of the caravans. (We were in a tent) Prizes on 2p machines weren't great just cheap breakable toys or sweets Camping pitches too close together luckily it was only us and one other but if the other spaces were full it would have been very close.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: We liked the holiday park overall. Clean facilities for camping too. The indoor pool was good. High rope information needs updating online as online it says from 6 years where realistically they need to be older. Really friendly, helpful staff.

Disliked: The way they squashed everyone up for non electric hook up into one part for no reason as there was plenty of space. Not very well thought out.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Plenty of space in a very peaceful surrounding. Toilets and showers were very clean. Good dog walking area. Really nice peaceful break. Great location to explore lizard peninsula.

Disliked: Would not be so nice peak season as pitch was adjacent to off road track and bear grill experience. Site was empty so loads of space but pitches were small if high season.

Local attractions

The scenery around the park is stunning – not for nothing has the Lizard been given an official stamp as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – which makes for some spectacular clifftop walks. It's not far from Land's End or the rather lovely St Michael’s Mount either. The local Blue Flag beaches offer a good range of watersports, including kitesurfing and sea kayaking. Serious thrill seekers should check out the adventure centre at Lusty Glaze beach, where they can test their mettle with water, land and cliff activities. Many of Cornwall’s top family attractions are found nearby: potter among the plant life under the giant domes of the Eden Project, or head to Newquay Zoo or the National Seal Sanctuary in the Helford Estuary for some close encounters of the animal kind. There are a couple of good theme parks, too: the Flambards Experience and the Crealy Great Adventure Park. If you’d like to uncover a bit more of the heritage of this Cornish corner, pay a visit to Poldark, an 18th-century tin mine, or the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth.
