  • Only a few metres away from Tamar River
  • Enjoy wild camping in the Launceston countryside
  • Many sports available and beaches at a short drive away
Netherbridge Camping is located in the beautiful countryside of Launceston, only a few metres away from the Tamar River, beside Higher New Bridge, a seventeenth-century bridge crossing the border between Devon and Cornwall. Guests should bring their own facilities, as this is a self-sufficient site with no toilets, showers or running water. Please keep this in mind when booking. You can choose among a wide range of sports available nearby, such as fishing and canoeing in the river, climbing, horse riding and golfing, with the nearest golf course being 1 mile away. You can also head to the beautiful beaches of Cornwall, just 40 minutes away or stroll along the pretty narrow streets of Launceston, home to traditional butchers and bakers along with independent shops and beautiful pubs.

Local attractions

Discover the pretty town of Launceston and visit its famous castle or the covered Friday market at St Mary's Hall. Here you can buy locally produced food, plants and an assortment of crafts. There is also the local market running once a month in the town square every month. Visit the Lawrence House Museum, housed in a fine Georgian building dating back to the 1753, home to an interesting history collection. If you are travelling with the kids, take a day trip to the Trethorne Leisure Park, with ponies to ride, lambs to feed, a cow to milk, and, for the smaller children, there is a special fun soft play area. There is also a large covered play barn with small tractors to ride. Parents, you can sit and relax at the restaurant serving delicious homemade treats.
