  • On the Rame Peninsula with views over the Tamar river
  • Kingsand, Cawsand and Mount Edgcumbe within a 10-minute drive
  • Café, bakery and bike hire on site
Roaming around the Rame Peninsula is straightforward from Mendennick Farm Campsite, a Cornish site where there's easy vehicle access between the B3247 and the grass pitches plus a bike hire service for getting out and about on two wheels (including electric-powered options if you prefer). Getting around the local area on foot is an option too, of course, as it’s just over a mile to the South West Coast Path. For other activity options, it’s a similar distance to the local surf school, with all sorts of additional watersports available at nearby seaside spots like Cawsand and Kingsand (both a couple of miles away). Alternatively, you could just stay on site for some action right here: there's a great outdoor centre offering paintballing, axe throwing and archery tag. The site's pitches are spread across two open grass fields, with views out over the Tamar river all the way to Dartmoor. An on-site bakery (with top-notch pasties) and a café (with breakfasts, lunches and cakes) are also available; you’re also very welcome to start up a barbecue. The local village pub is within walking distance, plus a couple of smarter restaurants if you fancy splashing out.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked: We stayed in our campervan with our children and with an awning. loads of space and quiet site with beautiful views. No contact with owners but saw some farmers (assume owners) field swapping with sheep. Which the kids loved watching the sheep running past us. Was clean and tidy in the field except one bag of dog poo some glorious person left previously. Absolutely disgusting and unfair on the farmers and sheep. Wound us up as no need for that behaviour. Plenty of bins for all waste. Went Fri to Sunday and few others joined the site throughout that time all quiet and peaceful (we were probably the noisiest with the children). Small negative Facilities weren't exactly 100% clean when we arrived and no cleaners seen throughout the weekend and Facilities were left as we found them so looks like hadn't been cleaned in a while. No soap in men's area had to take extra soap from female area and give to my husband. Toothpaste in sinks and waste in loos that looked like hadn't been cleaned in a few days. Washing up area was a little grubby but for the sake of a quick wash down to bring stuff home not a big deal to us personally. End of the day, it's a field, it has toilets. It has hot water. You can shower even if the water pressure not the best. Sheep poo is present as expected and we will visit again. As why not (it's what it says on the tin) No WiFi, kind of obvious though We stayed in the main field, easy access. Easy to find. Salty dog cafe served a good breakfast. On an easy route. Ice cream van down the road. Fab view watching torpoint ferry going back and forth. And the other boats. Is windy as top of a hill. Saw parachute gliders flying through. Beautiful lights from pylmouth and torpoint at night. Wasn't exactly noisy from the road. If your used to traffic then this won't bother you in the slightest.

Disliked: Some disgraceful human being leaving their dog poo in a bag behind. No excuse, bins provided and it's a farmers field used for sheep. No need for that behaviour!! And so disrespectful to the farmers and owners.
