  • Peaceful family site five miles from Land's End and stunning beaches
  • Play area, dog exercise field and TV room
  • Five minutes' walk from village with shop, pub and post office
Go west… and then west some more, for the highly stunning scenery around lush Land's End and Tower Park Caravans and Camping, in the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Penwith peninsula. Land's End is five miles from this scenic site (John O'Groats is 833 miles, in case you were curious), and it's four miles or about 10 minutes by car to Cornish coast and sands at Porthcurno, an award-winning beach overlooked by the fab Minack Theatre. The also-spectacular Sennen Cove and its famed surf is 10 minutes to the west from here. Closer to home, it's a five-minute stroll from the site to St Buryan village, where there's a pub, a shop and a post office. This is a peaceful and family-run place, among splendid scenery and with plenty of room on accommodation areas and around the site. Facilities include a play area and a TV room, along with well-kept essentials including modern showers and toilets, a launderette and a disabled-access shower room. A small shop and takeaway food are available in high season. Tower Park welcomes dogs and has an exercise field for four-legged guests.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: A very clean and tidy site, well located on the edge of a pretty village. Plenty of space both on, and between the pitches gave a private feel to our stay. The manager was helpful and welcoming upon our arrival late afternoon.

Disliked: I didn't like the WiFi set up: having to submit my email and address. This was clearly a marketing exercise and unnecessarily intrusive on privacy.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: We absolutely loved Tower Parks! Francesco was kind, warm and very welcoming, really made us feel at ease! Especially when we got stuck in the morning and had to be towed/pushed out of our spot! The toilets and showers were by far the cleanest and tidiest we've ever used on a campsite. We loved tower parks so much we ended up staying another night, kudos to Francesco for being such a delight

Fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Excellent flat, hardstanding gravel pitch. Good facilities on site. Friendly staff. Easy walk to a well-stocked village shop and also a farm shop a short drive away (not used). Ideal for visiting many well known visitor attractions. (Apparently there are regular bus routes to Penzance, Land’s End etc. but we didn’t try any).

Disliked: We stayed in late March 2024. Weather very mixed: be aware the site is elevated and exposed! Skegness not the only place to merit being called ‘bracing’. Some grass areas soggy after heavy rain. However, strong breeze dried out the van quickly afterwards. N.b. Electric hook-ups have a knob needing a quarter turn clockwise to switch on power.

Local attractions

Spend significant time on your west Cornish hol at Porthcurno, the stunning big beach that's rightly famed for its views, fine sands and clean water (if you're a connoisseur of the BBC's Poldark, you may spot that Porthcurno is the body double for Nampara Cove). There are – but of course – spectacular views from the cliffs above, where you can access the South West Coast Path if you're feeling active, or take in a show at the Minack Theatre if not. Porthcurno's also home to the award-winning Telegraph Museum, an interactive and family-focussed place that tells the tale of how the village was once the most connected area on the planet. From Porthcurno, it's about 20 minutes' drive to Penzance, 40 minutes to St Ives and half an hour to famed St Michael's Mount, the tidal island just offshore of the town of Marazion. You'll also be within easy reach of outdoorsy pursuits like surfing, fishing, sailing, kayaking, diving and climbing, and among weeks' worth of wildlife watching and birdwatching: dolphins, basking sharks, seals, leatherback turtles, Cornish choughs and peregrine falcons are among the many species to see.
