  • Well-maintained site in the grounds of a St Columb Major manor house
  • Within 20 minutes' drive of Newquay, Padstow and the Eden Project
  • Swimming pool, kids' pool, games room and bar on site
A Cornwall country pile with its own swimming pool and bar – swish enough for your family break? Then you’ll settle in well at the smart surrounds of Southleigh Manor Holiday Park, a spacious and well-maintained site in the grounds of a handsome 19th-century manor house. Fittingly for such a fancy setting, there’s a fine pile of facilities at this family-run site: around the well-kept gardens are a swimming pool and kids’ pool (with sun loungers for those supervising the smaller splashers), a large barbecue area and a play area on the edge of the woods. For times when the weather’s not so fine, scuttle indoors to the games room or the bar (which is generously stocked with local Cornish drinks to sip). And if the surrounds are pretty fine, so is the location, central within Cornwall just a two-minute drive from the A39. St Columb Major, less than a mile away, is your nearest spot for pubs, takeaways and supermarket stocking up. Beyond all of that, many of Cornwall’s top attractions are within easy reach – Fistral beach, the Eden Project, Newquay Zoo, Padstow and the South West Coast Path are all within a 20-minute drive.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Hot shower (tho even that was in need of some tlc) Gave us a hard standing pitch

Disliked: Awful 😞 The 'manor house' is a run down, slightly larger than normal house. 'reception' looked like it hadn't been open in years. Didn't expect pool to be open as outdoor but nothing else was either. No 'well stocked bar' or games room. Grounds were in a terrible state. We stayed on 2 other sites this week and they were pristine so don't blame it on the weather. The listing for this property on UK Pitchup is completely misleading and needs updating

From the manager: We are working on the manor house outside unfortunately as you stated don't blame the weather but we have had constant rain for 4 months and recently storms as well, we cannot cut grass as its too boggy hence why we put you on a hard standing pitch. If you read on pitchup we do not advertise the interior of the house open as yet as we had a water leak and decorating through out. We do work on the swimming pool ready for opening on May 10th it has its winter cover on which will come off the end of April to get power washed and cleaned up. The pictures on pitchup are true to point just took in a better weather and when everything is open. And our toilet block is cleaned and checked on a regular basis.

Tregony 2 bedroom cabin

Liked: The caravan was clean and maintained

Disliked: There wasn’t much do to at the holiday park. And needed a lot of maintenance

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. Sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us on the cabin. It does state on pitchup in the terms and conditions when everything is open I.e swimming pool , shop, bar etc When you had arrived we had just had the storm and the ground was wet and boggy unfortunately we cannot do nothing about the weather.

Would definitely recommend. Its small but has everything you need.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Really dirty toilets that hadn't been cleaned, owners dogs running around site and pooping everywhere.

From the manager: Sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us your dogs were running around playing with our dogs, you even told us the night before to let one of mine off his lead as we had him on one, you said he was fine they play together. You told me about the gents toilets which I did apologise for and I cleaned them myself as soon as you told me. You did stated that the ladies was spotless !! But our cleaners our ment to clean them twice a day so I have had words !!

Amenities require modifications.

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: The pool

Disliked: The area was cramped and we were placed very close to others we could hear every little noise. The ground wasn't well maintained and the bar and games room was full of mess and broken items. The bathroom area was not cleaned and the mop buckets full of disgusting dirty water. The entertainment was awful and the bar was just a room in the house that had bern made into a make shift bar.We didn't stay the full 6 nights booked. We left after 2 nights and moved to a better campsite.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us there our atleast 2 meters in-between each pitch , we our only a small campsite of 32 pitches but licensed for 76 pitches. All pitches our cut in-between each use and every where gets strimmed do not understand how they could be more maintained ?? We havnt had any broken items and the mess was probably from the children's toys that they all play with we do Tidy up on a regular basis. Toilet blocks get cleaned thoroughly twice daily the mop buckets get changed atleast 3 times a day if it's raining and muddy they do get filthy quickly cause they get mopped more regularly unfortunately we cannot do nothing about the weather. We had a quiz night on the night you arrived a lot of people enjoy it. Our bar is over 20 years old and was here long before we took over in 2019 so I can assure you it is not makeshift and a lot of people love the old fashioned bar.

Local attractions

They’re mighty proud of their coastline, the people of Cornwall, and with good reason – it’s got so many stunning spots along its length. Mawgan Porth beach (15 minutes’ drive) is the closest stretch of sand, but it’s also worth planning trips to the spectacular sand dunes at Perranporth (25 minutes) and hitting the waves (with expert instruction from one of the local surf schools if required) at Newquay’s Fistral beach (20 minutes). Newquay itself’s worth a bit of your time too – the Blue Reef aquarium and Newquay Zoo are both popular picks for days out, and there’s a golf course with cracking sea views for those who don’t mind a bit of distraction. A little further north are the foodie haven of Padstow (20 minutes) and the little fishing village of Port Isaac (half an hour). Kids who’ve been well behaved might possibly earn themselves an outing to one of the family-friendly attractions nearby: Screech Owl Sanctuary (five minutes), Camel Creek Adventure Park (10 minutes) or Old MacDonald's Farm (15 minutes). Trips to the eco domes of the Eden Project will take about 20 minutes by car.
