Honeysuckle electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Lovely campsite with great countryside views, staff were friendly and came round just after 8pm to check we were settled in and on pitch all ok, even went to the trouble to bring a bag of firewood for us outside of the shops hours! Showers were hot, temp adjustable, and had an on and off so no endless button pushing! Newly refurbed loos were lovely and the fridge/freezer/washing up area was ideal. Water on pitch is super handy and electric was as you’d expect. Site is also well situated to explore the coast, as well as the market on a Saturday morning at Bridport which was a lovely surprise. Will be back soon as never made it to cider farm this time!

Disliked: Toilets were on the hole very clean so haven’t removed any stars, although my partner did mention the ladies could have done with an extra clean during the day as they were at times a bit dirty, possibly an extra quick top up clean might solve this when the site is busy. I had no problem with the gents or showers though!

From the manager: Thank you for your detailed and positive review. It's always great to hear what our guests like best about Pineapple and also to hear suggestions. Toilets are cleaned and checked twice a day but we do try to increase this on very busy weekends or wet days. We look forward to welcoming you back for your next visit.

Honeysuckle electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Great campsite, lovely views! The toilets and showers are very clean. I was worried it would get busy trying to get a shower but was no issue. Great secure area to let the dogs off in the orchard. We arrived a bit early to get our bearings before we headed down to West Bay. We were greeted by a lovely lady who allowed us to set up early as the pitch was free. The man that owns the site also came round to check all ok which was a nice touch. Great there was a drinking water tap at the pitch too

Disliked: Nothing, everything was as expected or better!

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: What a lovely review- thank you so much. We are so glad everything was as good as you had hoped and that you made good use of the orchard. We hope to see you again soon.

Honeysuckle electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Lovely, quiet site. The perfect escape into the Dorset countryside. The nicest and cleanest toilets you will even find! The firepits for each pitch we're a nice touch too.

Disliked: It was a shame that the on site shop closed early on the weekend.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your positive review - I'm so glad you liked our bright new toilets. We're really pleased with them too! Once peak season kicks in we open the shop into the evening at weekends so people can enjoy a drink with us in the sunshine. Apologies that that hadn't quite started in time for your visit -you'll have to come again soon!

Clover electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Lovely clean, quiet site with a well stocked shop for all your needs, hosted by a very welcoming family who will do anything to make your stay a pleasant one.

Disliked: Along way to anything, Local pub very quiet with small drinks selection but not the sites fault at all.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We are indeed a quiet site and are surrounded by countryside which does make it a little bit of a journey to get into town - about 5 minutes in the car. It would be lovely to see you back again another time.

Disliked: Showers with gaps at top and bottom so full of bugs

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and would come again. I wonder if one of the light sensors in the shower was playing up as that is the only time we've had a problem with bugs sneaking in to the showers. We will check that out - thank you. Next time do use the left hand shower which has no gaps just to be sure.

Local attractions

Head to West Bay (15 minutes' drive) for a first glimpse of the world-famous coastline; you'll get even better views on a boat cruise round the cliffs, or try kayaking it yourself. Abbotsbury (half an hour) is a popular spot to start walking the shingle airstrip-cum-sandbar that forms famous Chesil Beach. Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre (25 minutes) has fine examples of the fossils found nearby, including the Sea Dragon (an icthyosaur, in fact) unearthed in 2016. It's also the starting point for guided fossil hunts and rockpool rambles... you could come home with an icthyosaur of your own... West Bay lies on the mighty 680-mile South West Coast Path, but fret not, you don't have to walk it all. A trip round to the old lookout point of Thorncombe Beacon makes a pleasant ramble, especially as there's a pub at the end, or you could drive to Stonebarrow Hill (25 minutes) and explore the Golden Cap, a clifftop wilderness populated by peregrine falcons and butterflies. For diehard townies, there's a market selling something (vinyl or vintage, antiques and organics) in Bridport (15 minutes) almost daily and elegant Lyme Regis (half an hour) looks like a film set, especially when the fog rolls in.
