  • Small family-run site on a working farm five miles from the coast
  • A 15-minute drive to Weymouth and 20 minutes to Monkey World
  • Great for families, with spacious pitches and animals to meet
Looking for your fix of outdoor life with both a peaceful vibe and a good stack of facilities? Dewflock Farm is a working farm where families can have a safe, scenic setting from which to explore the Dorset countryside or zip down to the Jurassic Coast – or just stick around to watch the farm animals going about their business. This is a great base for visitors wanting to explore Dorset, as bus stops and bike routes are within a 10-minute walk. The shops, restaurants, bars, cinemas and museums of county town Dorchester are a five-minute drive away, and the splendid sands of Weymouth can be reached in about 15 minutes. Some other lovely beaches, such as Ringstead and Lulworth, are also within easy reach and worth exploring – the site team will happily point you in the right direction. The nearest supermarket is a two-minute drive away, but there's food even closer to hand too – the owners produce their own meat, which you can order to be delivered to your accommodation for a particularly fine dinner cooked up on your barbecue or in the field kitchen, where there's a communal eating area, fridges, freezers and crockery, cutlery and utensils. No need to make such efforts in the morning though – the site café is open for breakfast. Pizzas are also freshly made to order on selected evenings. As this is a working farm with livestock, unfortunately dogs can't be permitted on site.

Fully-furnished bell tent (premium)

Liked: We loved our stay at Dewflock Farm. We had a fully furnished bell tent and it was great! The beds were comfy and warm, the fire pits are fun and functional and the complimentary marshmallows definitely a winner with the kids. Every morning they were up and ready to go and ride in the Landies and had a great time in the Maize maze. Showers are warm and spacious and the toilet block is clean and tidy. Outdoor kitchen area has a kettle, cleaning area, cutlery and crockery and multiple fridges and freezers to use. Location is great, the train track is literally right behind you, but they don't wake you up and it's just an added bonus for the kids to watch them going by throughout the day. My kids were regular visitors to the lambs and the Donkey is a fabulous character- one day he was stood waiting at the fence and when the kids noticed and started running towards him he started bellowing with excitement! There's plenty to keep them entertained and I wish it was open more throughout the year, they asked me to extend the stay but they were fully booked for the BH weeked. Verity and the family are friendly and fun and they should be really proud of their fabulous site.

Rufus shepherd's hut

Liked: We stayed in the Rufus shepherds hut, the accommodation was cute, cosy, clean and tidy. The site was good for young or older children with the on-site animals, mini landrovers, maize, games room and cafe. The facilities (toilets, showers and kitchen) was very clean the whole stay. Location was really good and the owners/staff was very polite and professional

Disliked: Accommodation was abit too cosy/cramped for the three of us and the luggage. I wouldn’t choose this type of accommodation again for three people, I would go for the bell tent. My 3 year old wouldn’t sleep on the top bunk as it was to high for him.

Fully-furnished bell tent (premium)

Liked: Retuned after a lovely stay two years ago. Clean, boys able to run around freely and enjoyed being able to get close to animals. Lots of stars at night and wildlife to be seen and heard. Perfect location to travel around from. Lyme Regis dinosaurland fossil museum was great. Weymouth close by also. Plenty to do and Dewflocks sunflower corn maze was a hit as was table tennis & landies! Thank you for a lovely time! Boys were sad to leave.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike!

Liked: We absolutely loved the site. Lots of animals to see for my 7 and 9 year olds. It felt really safe to let the children play further away from us. The home cooked pizza was delicious. We would definitely visit again.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Great comms from the owners before we arrived regarding an event they had on that weekend. Kids will love the open space and access to animals. Mini Landrovers were great as well as freshly baked Pizzas. Basic facilities but kept well enough. Site isn't very level so bring some blocks if you are in a camper van like we were. Had a good weekend here

Ted shepherd's hut

Liked: DING DONG Absolutely loved this hidden gem. Our shepherd hut was so full of character, decorated beautifully and perfect for us. Situated at the top of the field where it was so peaceful. Waking up to the sound of the countryside, sunshine and going to bed literally under the stars. The night sky was amazing, especially with the fire pit alight. We had all the facilities we needed, shower block, toilets, kitchen area and electrical point in the kitchen area. There was also a dining/lounge area to eat, watch the TV, read, play games etc. Next to this was a games room with table tennis, table football and a woodfired pizza oven for themed pizza nights. There was a maize maze, mini land rovers and the animals to pet for the children. Our hosts, Verity and Tom, were fabulous, friendly, helpful and attentive to all our needs. They have such passion for what they do and this reflects in there work. Highly recommend this glamping site. We will most definitely be back next year. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

The Copse shepherd's hut

Liked: LOVED EVERY PART OF IT!! My partner and I came here as a last minute mini moon after getting married the weekend before. It was secluded so we had a whole private area with our very own eco toilet and warm shower! The shepards hut was a dream and felt so cosy sleeping there. We had our very own viewing points for sunrise and sunset over Maiden Castle! Verity was sooo lovely and very easy to communicate with. It is so close to Dorset so taxis were not a problem to reach for a lovely meal out in Osmington one night. Great location as it’s not too touristic like Lulworth cove and Durdle Door but reachable for the must dos. Some very cute goats and sheep!! Thanks so much for our stay!

Disliked: Absolutely nothing

Bell tent (classic)

Liked: Loved it. The owners were friendly and helpful. Managed to book very last minute. Tent was lovely and clean (we had a booked an unfurnished bell tent). Facilities were exactly what was needed and super handy to have the fridges, microwave etc. Our kids loved seeing the goats and lambs plus having the electric cars out in the morning was a great touch for the kids. Great location and easy driving distance to beaches, supermarkets etc. So lovely to see all the kids playing together too and having lots of fun outside. I would 100% stay again and my girls would love to go back
