  • Dorset pop-up site on a working farm with sea views over Weymouth Bay
  • Weymouth and Jurassic Coast within a 15-minute drive
  • Pub and farm shop within walking distance; footpath next to the site
Friar Waddon Farm Campsite is part of a family-run working arable farm in the Dorset countryside, about 15 minutes’ drive from Weymouth and the Jurassic Coast. The pop-up site is open during the summer harvest season, so it’s likely you’ll see some of the day-to-day goings-on of proper farm life (like combine harvesters that may well be fascinating to the kids…) Pitches are spread across a fenced 15-acre field with stunning views towards the sea at Weymouth Bay. There’s quite a bit of wildlife around too, so keep an eye out for barn owls, hares, deer and passing birds. If you’ve not spotted anything on site, maybe try your luck heading out for a stroll or a bike ride – there are lots of options nearby, including paths right from the site towards local landmarks like the Hardy Monument. This is a place where the owners have a task for you: namely, to sit back, enjoy the views and take in the nature all around you. To help with that, they’ve got rules in place that prevent loud or late music being played on site. There’s lots of space for kids and dogs to have a run about on site, so hopefully they’ll be pretty tired out by bedtime too… Barbecues are welcome on site as long as they’re raised off the ground and embers are removed (no firepits or naked flames on site though, thank you). Supplies for your grill can be picked up from the farm shop a couple of miles away or at bigger shops in Weymouth or Dorchester. Facilities on site include running water and portable toilets, but there are no showers.
