  • In an arty neighbourhood beside two and a half acres of woodland
  • A 30-minute walk to Bristol city centre and 45 to the Harbourside
  • Sauna, outdoor kitchen, pizza oven and solar showers
Bagging a break in Bristol? Have a look at Enneywevers, in Greater Bristol’s hip and happening St Werburgh neighbourhood: it's just a 30-minute walk from the city centre, so whether you want to party in St Pauls, café hop around Clifton or browse the boutiques up on Park Street, it’s a prime place to do it from. Peaceful times await here too in between the city days, as Enneywevers is right next door to the two and a half-acre wild green woods of Boiling Wells with terraced orchard, native trees and stream. Other places to escape the city are also within minutes from the site on foot, including a climbing wall centre set in an old converted church, and the eco houses of the Boiling Wells project. You can also get to Gloucester Road – Europe’s longest street of independently run businesses, for charity shops and international restaurants ranging from Persian-Korean fusion to Caribbean – in 20 minutes' or so stroll. For restaurants and bars with a memorable view, hotfoot it to the Harbourside (45 minutes on foot or 20 minutes’ drive) and pull up a pew overlooking the water. The teeny shops and eateries in the Whapping Wharf cargo containers are worth dropping by as well... before moseying back to the site for a session in the sauna . Enneywevers is in a residential area with a few shops and restaurants. If you're eating in rather than out, an organic supermarket a 15-minute walk away is the spot to bag bits for the Enneywevers pizza oven.

Local attractions

Get in the car (or on a bus) for a trip to one of Bristol’s most epic sights, the Clifton Suspension Bridge created by engineering expert Brunel in Victorian times (20 minutes’ drive). The Avon Gorge Hotel next door has a rooftop looking out at it so you can have a proper look while sipping on Somerset ciders. If you’ll be pedalling as well as bussing and walking around the city, a very doable day trip is to bike along the Bristol & Bath Railway Path starting a 10-minute ride away from the site on St Philips Rd. Not got the legs for this 15-mile Sustrans Art Trail? You could also head to the Roman city on a train taking about 20 minutes from Bristol’s main Temple Meads station. Alternatively, drive over to Blaise Castle (25 minutes' drive) to see the folly said to have inspired Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey.
