Peaceful dog-friendly Ayrshire smallholding site among woodlands
Half an hour's drive from Irvine and Ayr; an hour to Dumfries
Next to a stream and two miles from the River Ayr Way

Hillend Camping and Motorhome Aire is a quiet pop-up campsite based on a smallholding and livery stables in rural Ayrshire. The site is in a very private location and is encircled by peaceful woodlands, but it's still within easy reach of local towns and villages. The Dippol Burn stream, where kids and dogs can cool off, meanders through the site, and the gorgeous River Ayr Way walk is roughly two miles north of base. Badgers, hedgehogs, deer, foxes, owls and otters can sometimes be spotted in the local area, so keep your eyes peeled when exploring local woodlands and riverbanks. The pitches here are spacious and unmarked, so feel free to pick your own location. As the site is part of a working farm, you may also see horses and ponies grazing in nearby fields. This site is all about getting back to nature and relaxing in a secluded family-friendly space. Although the fields feel very peaceful, they're not entirely off-grid and have access to a shower and toilet. Off-ground firepits and barbecues are permitted. Hillend Livery Camping is roughly a mile and a half from the village of Auchinleck, where there is a railway station, convenience store, pub, butcher's and café. Please note that there is no chemical waste point on site.

Group bookings of 2 or more units (e.g. tent, touring caravan, motorhome or accommodation hire) travelling together are not permitted via Pitchup.com.
No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.
Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.
At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.
Units longer than 7.5 metres are not allowed.
Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.
Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.

Liked: We stayed with our 3 dogs in the tent Saturday night and enjoyed the peace and large space. The toilets and shower were perfect. With less then an hour from home and a great place to get away . The fire pit was and sunset just made for a perfect night :)

Liked: Very helpful owner, DIane, came out to meet me as I arrived and point out where everything was. The site is open with fields of horses adjacent as well as a children's / picnic area. Toilets/showers are clean and well-kept. It was exactly what I was looking for. The surrounding area is good for cycling/walking, although Ayrshire is mostly hills. Nearby Sorn (5K) is worth a visit.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Please pick any available pitch on arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Changes cannot be made once you have booked.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.

Extras

Motorbike(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.
