Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Fantastic new shower block, lovely situation along the river. Close to town. Cafe serving food all day. We were spoilt with sunshine, no wind and no midges for a May Bank holiday weekend.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Great spot, spotlessly clean Nice walk into Fort William Friendly free range hens

Disliked: Never like the late check-in of 2pm & early out by 11am bit tight when it was the most expensive site on our Scotland tour. 2 minute run time on showers without constantly pressing not long enough

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Received a warm welcome on arrival and welcome pack for dog. Lovely site and well maintained. Good size pitches, great location next to the river with views of the Ben Nevis range. Walks through woodland beside river was excellent for the dog. Facilities spotless and heated. Wonderful hot water showers.

Disliked: No hairdryer or socket to plug one into.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Wow! What can I say, it was an impeccably run campsite, one of the best we stayed in in the West Highlands of Scotland. Waking up to see the views of Ben Nevis & Glen Nevis every morning was incredible and made our adventure even more exciting. The site itself is in the idyllic town of Fort William, it is clean and well-looked after, has all the facilities you need, modern shower and toilet block, including a wonderful cafe with a brilliant range of delicious food and friendly staff who give great advice - all for great value for money. If you want a memorable holiday, then book Ben Nevis Holiday Park!

Disliked: That we didn't get to stay for longer!

Local attractions

The owners reckon there’s something for everyone around this site, but walkers and cyclists are especially sorted when it comes to activities. If you’re up for a trek, challenge yourself to one of the trails up Ben Nevis, getting intel on which ones to tackle at the mountain range’s visitor centre, just over five minutes’ drive away. If you’re after a lazier lope, amble along the Caledonian Canal from the locks at Neptune's Staircase (25 minutes’ walk) or get your RDA of exercise by nipping in and out of the shops of Fort William (five minutes’ drive). The town has plenty of stores selling mountaineering kit if you need equipment to try out the more intense pursuits – think skiing and downhill biking – available in the area. For a family day out, make your way to the Glenfinnan Viaduct (25 minutes’ drive) and see if the kids recognise it from the Harry Potter films – the Hogwarts Express was filmed crossing this oh-so-scenic bridge. Saving perhaps the best activity till last, top off your trip by paying a visit to the whisky makers at the Ben Nevis Distillery (15 minutes’ walk) for a few drams of one of Scotland’s finest exports.
