Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: A beautiful campsite with plenty of space and peaceful surrounding scenery. The site has permanent caravans owned by families who return each year, who are very welcoming and friendly. There are well kept facilities with a payable shower (50p for 5 minutes), and wash stations. If the weather is sunny, the site is a sun trap which we loved. If you need a fire pit or kindling and marshmallows, these are available to buy on site. We will definitely be coming back to stay. Lots of activities and areas to walk within an hours drive.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Lovely family-run site in beautiful countryside. Pitches are large and level. Toilet/shower block is spotless. Owners are very helpful - we hired a fire pit and used their handouts containing detailed information about local walks, shops, services etc. We've already recommended Riverside Llangammarch to our caravanning friends and we're planning a return visit. Thank you James and family!

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Lovely setting. Well maintained and showers and toilets are clean.

Disliked: The shower block really needs some heating at this time of year. Shower 2 in the female part is tiny so the whole area is wet and there is no where in the cubicle that is dry to get changed after a shower

Bluebell camping pod

Liked: We loved the pod, it was cozy! The campsite was in a good location and the couple that own the campsite are lovely!

Disliked: The showers were cold, and the toilet block was cold, in the summer this would have been fine but in October it wasn’t great!

Local attractions

This part of the world has many enticing options for folk who like a good walk or bike ride on their hols: as well as local riverside paths, you might also like to consider setting off for the Elan Valley (half an hour’s drive) to ramble by lakes and waterfalls, or aim south to the trails of the Brecon Beacons National Park. For other outdoorsy days, there’s a fine golf course in Builth Wells (15 minutes) and the chance to see big birds take flight at the Red Kite Feeding Station in Rhyader (half an hour). The Brecon Mountain Railway (an hour) is a great choice for those who’d like to see the scenery at slow pace, and the Dolaucothi Roman gold mines likewise for folk intrigued by what lies beneath their feet. There’s a lot going on throughout the year in this area too – time your trip cleverly to tie in with the Hay-on-Wye Book Festival (45 minutes), the parades of fine beasts at the Royal Welsh Show (20 minutes) or the famed World Bog Snorkelling Championships (10 minutes).
