Liked: Fabulous site. Lovely big pitches, spotless facilities. Friendly managers. This is our second visit, there was an offer on paddle boarding lessons which my boys absolutely loved. The kids have asked when we can go back again as they love the freedom of the big play area.

Disliked: Veggie/vegan options in the restaurant are a bit rubbish. Bar needs a better range of beer and cider.

Liked: Absolutely fantastic site to camp on in our tourer .The grounds are amazing , NO MUD whatsoever .We'll maintained by staff .Greeted by a lady who was so helpful so we would know everything about the site ie waste point , bins etc . Arthur's bar is a well stocked establishment and really reasonable prices .Pods are fantastic idea , we enjoyed a pizza which was cooked a couple of meters from were we were sitting .Amazing food. Saturday nite we enjoyed a 3 course meal in the restaurant , staff so friendly and food was to die for .Come to pay the bill and yes again not expensive . Well done to the owners and staff ....we will definitely be back x x

Disliked: Noise in restaurant on Saturday night...think it was a private party but they were very loud .

Liked: Beautiful clean site with so much to do. We spent the afternoon playing foot golf & took our dog on a 2 hour walk. Then spend the evening in the lovely on-site pub & had some dinner there too. We sat in one of the pods at the back as our dog could be there. The staff were lovely, especially the brunette lady working Friday daytime. The toilet facilities are clean and spacious.

Local attractions

The Mid Wales countryside is packed with places to get out for a walk among the gorgeous scenery – the Elan Valley (35 minutes) is perhaps one of the better known areas, with waterfalls, reservoirs and a great family-friendly trail along an old railway line. It’s also worth stopping by at Clywedog Dam (15 minutes) and seeking out the Source of the River Severn (half an hour). You may spot wildlife as you walk, but for guaranteed sightings, take a visit to the Red Kite Feeding Station (half an hour). For a sense of the area’s history and traditions, visit the shops in Llanidloes (10 minutes), see old crafts at Newtown Textile Museum and learn about mining life at the Silver Mountain Experience (35 minutes). Powis Castle and Garden (40 minutes) is a good bet for history buffs, art lovers, garden gurus and families alike. Fancy a breath of seaside air? Head to the west coast to visit Aberystwyth or hit the beach in Aberdyfi (both about 55 minutes).
