Alpaca Area - Ash bell tent (four person)
Liked: The value for money is so good at this place. Also very easy to find. My husband and I stayed Saturday night with our daughter who loved the alpacas. The whole experience is so peaceful and serene. Very clean and breathtaking views. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly! Moly was amazing host showing us around especially introducing us to all the alpacas. We have already booked or next visit. :)

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch (backpacker, small, two person)
Liked: The site was beautiful and the staff were very friendly and couldn’t help enough. Compost toilets were well maintained and didn’t smell. River was great and full of trout for fishing. The alpaca were an amazing addition and my son had the chance to go and feed them free of charge.
Disliked: Honestly nothing to dislike here

Liked: The location is great, the river runs alongside the tent pitches, there's a pub on site that serves food and drinks and there's plenty of outdoor seating space.
Disliked: If I was to be picky, probably the fact that there ain't any shower facilities, hence why my stays have only ever been 1/2 nights. But don't let that put you off.

Poppy's Patch bell tent
Liked: We stayed for 3 nights in May 2024, with 3 children aged 11,8 and 6 this site was great. Lots of wooded areas for the children to explore, the beautiful river for them to paddle in and of course the alpacas!! The owners were fantastic and very knowledgeable, they were present on the site, regularly checking in to see if everything was OK, inviting the children to feed the alpacas and keeping the place clean and tidy so everyone could enjoy their trip! We booked onto the alpaca walk which the kids loved and we learnt so much about alpacas, we would definitely recommend!! The composting toilets were no trouble at all and the kids learnt a lot about water wastage and why composting toilets help the environment.
Disliked: Nothing

Alpaca Area - Ash bell tent (four person)
Liked: Superb couple of nights away with two boys 9 and 6 on my own in a wonderful bell tent lulled to sleep by the River Alwen. Caroline and Richard were faultless in their service, the food was great, clean, tidy and the spot was just idyllic. Alpacas were a big draw for my two and it kept them off their screens (mostly). Definitely return!
Disliked: Nothing. Lack of wifi was a plus for me at least!

Kingfisher cabin (seven person)
Liked: Honestly- we are not seasoned campers, far from it. So when the kids (4&11) pestered us to go camping, I had to give in. I hunted for a middle ground and came across the Kingfisher cabin. You know the saying something sounds too good to be true. After reading the brilliant reviews I had doubts but oh my…. The place is serene, the family are just the loveliest people you could meet, the alpacas are soooo cute, everywhere is spotlessly clean (yes-even the compost toilets) and everything was just perfect. I can’t fault the place! Within 30 minutes of being there, the lovely Molly had taken the children off to feed the alpacas, nothing was too much trouble. The kids absolutely loved it. They were talking about that little experience all the way home. I’m so grateful for the memories you’ve given us. The food in the pub was delicious, especially the blackberry and apple crumble (yum). We will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing, comfortable stay. Keep up the hard work you do, because it really shows. It’s not often you can see passion shine through like at your place. It genuinely feels like you’ve opened your home to your guests.
Disliked: I disliked coming home. The only teeny tiny bit of constructive criticism I could give (certainly NOT a dislike) is showers would mean we could have a longer stay with you. And another little table in the cabin for drinks etc would be helpful. I was so worried about the children knocking something over. To anyone reading these reviews and considering booking - do it. You won’t regret it.

Poppy's Patch bell tent
Liked: What a beautiful place to stay. We stayed in the poppy bell tent, I was a little concerned about the river with my toddler when booking this but when we arrived there was enough bushes and brambles to keep him a safe distance away. Site was well maintained and the tent was spotless when we arrived. I liked the fact they had the pub on site for food and a break away from the rain. Food was nice and they had a children's menu. Although they had compost toilets the pub toilets were open during pub open hours.
