Liked: Owners were fabulous - very welcoming and friendly, stayed up with them and had a few drinks was great - showers and toilets kept very clean and tidy - loads of spare gear in case you've forgot something - fresh egg from the hens on the site £1 for half dozen. Site itself was nice and peaceful.

Liked: Amazing camp site and perfect for little kids. The chickens that roam about are fun to see and the kids were able to feed them (as well as the pigs and sheep!). Campsite is very clean and has everything you could need, (including a bar with draft beer!) Owners are very nice people and welcoming, they have created a really nice space for everyone to enjoy the outdoors. I would highly recommend this site!

Liked: We really love how accommodating the hosts were and made us feel very welcome. Lee was especially brilliant with the kids and they loved feeding the animals each day and collecting eggs from the hens for breakfast. The showers were lovely and clean with plenty of room to get changed. Also the way you only have to turn it on and the temperature is regulated for you with the boiler. There was also chargers in the toilet and washing up area for your phones so that’s a great plus. The kids words where that they loved the animals and the range of sweets sold at the bar/shop and of course roasting marshmallows and making them into sandwiches with chocolate digestives! The kids were that into the camping and the animals they didn’t even notice if there was Wi-Fi!!! The location is brilliant for a range of different activities or visiting different places.
Disliked: Only that the ground in the Lower camp area is rocky under the grass for pitching your tent but the site have a range of tough pens available if you don’t bring any.

From the manager: Thanks for the great review. Normally the lower camp area is reserved for camper vans. Due to the unusually wet weather and the fact it is drainage stone with a few inches of soil on top makes it ideal for camping in wet weather. Rock pegs are definitely needed in this area but we do provide them free of charge.
Great gem of a campsite
