Liked: Our first visit to Tyn Cornel. We only stayed for 1 night, but despite the biblical weather conditions, we couldn't fault it. The owners seem to put a good deal of effort in to ensuring everything runs smoothly. The wood fired pizza was amazing! Definitely recommend this site.

Disliked: Queuing for ages in the pouring rain for pizza! (It was worth it in the end though!!)

Riverside Pod camping pod

Liked: The site was in the perfect location with a walkway directly to the whitewater centre and river access on site. The facilities on site were brilliant and clean, the showers were nice and hot. The coffee machine is a stroke of genius for those that don't fancy putting the stove on and waiting for water to boil. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The pod we stayed in was spacious, clean and comfortable, we were especially grateful of the sheltered cooking area.

Disliked: It can get very muddy at the bottom of the steps to the pods so bring wellys or boots and watch your step.

Liked: Great facilities, nice quiet site, and very helpful owners. Playing field for the kids. There was wifi but it didn’t reach our pitch at the far end of the site. No real hardship though.

Liked: Excellent site. Very clean, friendly, good facilities and beautiful surroundings. Also close enough to the main road so no having on c roads to locate it. Nice walk directly from the site. Water sport centre just next door with the best cafe ever!!!!

Disliked: No. Did the job for what we wanted.

Tyn Cornel Camping is in prime position for exploring Snowdonia National Park, whether you're after an active holiday in north Wales or want to chill in spectacular surroundings with occasional trips out to local attractions. For active types, the National White Water Centre is metres away; the river rapids run past the site and a river access ramp is on site. If you've never tried whitewater rafting before this is the place to do it, as well as to tackle kayaking or canoeing year-round. For more action, Surf Snowdonia, Zip World and Bounce Below are all a short trip away. Walks? Pick from an easy riverside walk straight from the site, the craggy local peak of Arenig Fawr, or ascents like Snowdon or Cadair Idris within easy driving distance. For biking, some of the UK's best-rated mountain biking trails including Coed y Brenin and Penmachno are within a 30-minute drive, while for road cycling the area is filled with quiet, winding country roads, some stiff climbs and consistently fab views. Family cycling trips can be had at the Mawddach Trail, Llandegla or Llyn Brenig. The Tyn Cornel team also highly recommends castles including Harlech Castle and Criccieth Castle on the coast; the local narrow-gauge railways with spectacular views including the famed Snowdon Mountain Railway and the local Bala Lake Railway; the Italianate setting and buildings of Portmeirion village; the local ales, pub food, takeaways or fine restaurant meals in Bala; Michelin-starred fine dining at Tyddyn Llan or Llandrillo…

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

Extras

Motorbike(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
Quiet hours must be respected between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
The site is not liable for any refund in the event of force majeure.

Occupancy

Group bookings of 2 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).
Group bookings of 2 or more units (e.g. tent, touring caravan, motorhome or accommodation hire) travelling together are not permitted via Pitchup.com.
No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
Single-sex bookings of 3 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Pitches

You must follow the management directives when pitching your tent/unit and related equipment.

Reception

Reception is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. between 23/03 and 05/11.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.
If making a fire, the fuel, logs and coal have to be purchased on site.

Taxes

This area is not subject to city tax.

Vehicles

No vehicle movement between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m..
Only one car is to be parked by the pitch. Extra vehicles must be parked in the designated area.
The car is only included in the rate if you are travelling with a touring caravan or a tent. If you wish to bring a car along with your motorhome/campervan please select the extra.

Visitors

Visitors are not permitted on site.

Additional terms

In periods of heavy rain and soft ground conditions, campervans may have to move to hardstanding pitches to protect the grass.

Campfires are exclusively allowed in the firepits provided. Wood must be purchased on site.
