Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Beautiful location, close access to Snowdon by car. Nice river walk straight from the campsite

Disliked: Gents toilet was locked on first night, no hot water facility in gents toilet but one available to females... Wood for campfires available for purchase but didn't seem like seasoned wood.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Quiet site next to a river with walking trails. Very picturesque. Great for overnight stay but no shower facilities.

Disliked: No shower or wash facilities. This was stated before booking. Only stayed the one night for£32 for family of 4 which is expensive considering there is no wash facilities. A shower block was being built but looked a while off being completed.

From the manager: Sorry you were disappointed by our slow progress on building a shower block. it has been an awful winter and spring, so work has been held up. This is made clear in the information we put out about the site We do provide a warm water cubicle in which women can have a private strip wash . Men have washing facilities too, but cold water only at present. with the better weather work on the shower block can get underway... fingers crossed I hope you will come back when we're up and running with the showers

Brilliant will use again

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: The campsite is incredible, the views are like something from a film and is one of the reasons why we chose this site from looking at everyone else’s reviews/pictures and it did not disappoint. Toilets had everything you needed, and showers are being built, our stay was only short so we freshened up by the river and brought own toiletries etc. Super friendly and helpful staff, and other campers were lovely! Already recommended to a ton of family and friends, as they’ve seen the pics and want in, definitely get booking for the summer months! We can’t wait to go back. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Liked: Lots of area to choose from with well maintained toilet amenities and drinking water. Looks like lots of work is going on to try and improve the drainage as well.

Disliked: Would be amazing with shower faculties which I think are on the way.

From the manager: Hello Janice So sorry you did not enjoy your stay. The weather has been so bad this spring, and over the winter. I have never known it to be so wet. we have put in an huge amount of work to drain the site and build firm foot paths to and from toilets. We are now reseeding the grass IN the late spring and summer, when the weather is better, all the inconveniences you experienced will be gone

Local attractions

Coming here to conquer Snowdon? Pen-Y-Pass car park is about half an hour's drive if you're ascending on foot, while the Llanberis station where you can pick up the Snowdon Mountain Railway is also well within range (35 minutes). Make sure to pack sensible clothing if heading out for a hike – any shorts and t-shirts you've brought along can be put to good use on the beach at Llandudno or Colwyn Bay (both 35 minutes). Up for a trip on the longest zipline this side of the equator? Then make for Zip World Fforest (10 minutes' drive), where there's also a kilometre-long rollercoaster that twists downhill through the trees. More adrenaline-fuelled action is to be had at Capel Curig (20 minutes), a peaceful mountain village that's home to the Plas-y-Brenin National Outdoor Centre. Something more sedate? Steer clear of hair-raising Snowdonia activities and instead head for gentler walks at Bodnant Garden (25 minutes) or Conwy Castle (30 minutes).
