  • Luxury glampsite in Llangian, a five-minute drive to Abersoch village
  • Five minutes from Porth Neigwl beach for surfing and kitesurfing
  • Accommodation with a hot tub, barbecue and private bathroom
There are two key reasons to nip over to Nightsky Glamping for a hol. One: each accommodation has a hot tub. And two: you can amble with the alpacas that live in the nearby fields during the top trekking trips organised by the park. When you’re not frolicking with the friendly gang of furry creatures at this family-friendly site in Llangian on the Llŷn Peninsula, set off on the five-minute drive to Abersoch’s Porth Neigwl beach for some surfing or kitesurfing in one of north Wales’ premier wave-riding hotspots. Dry off back at the park in your ace accommodation: the units come with little luxuries like private bathroom pods containing showers, toilets and sinks, and adding to the cosy feel are heaters and comfy beds, with bed linen and towels provided. The electric power points are handy for charging up your devices (you’ll be wanting to snap some selfies with the alpacas, after all). Stomach rumbling? The kitchen area in your unit has an oven, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster and slow cooker, so rustling up meals or snacks is a cinch – as is tucking into them thanks to the indoor dining space. In keeping with the name of this park in Gwynedd, evenings are well spent steaming in the hot tub while admiring the night sky. Dawdle out to the seating on the decking area after a dip to stoke up the barbecue and outdoor logburner as you settle in under the stars. Too chilly? There’s also a TV inside for when the sky-gazing comes to an end.

3 bedroom safari tent

Liked: Everything about the site and facilites is wonderful. The hot tub was fab. The safari tent was immaculate and well equipped . The logs provided was lovely touch too. So cosy! And loves the inside and outside loo… v handy with a lot of us! Location is brilliant for visiting lots of places on the LLyn. Staff were so helpful and understanding prior to our arrival as well as we had some issues going on affecting our trip but it all worked out in the end!

Disliked: The windy weather made sleeping difficult! The tent was so noisy and kids got scared but we can’t do anything about the weather can we! Be nice to have cafe/ shop service on arrival and departure day as we packed up and headed over at 9.30 for breakfast rolls and told they didn’t do them on departure day… we were so disappointed ☹️ or even a pre book service like we had for the pizzas. They were lovely too. The bedroom opposite the bunk room could do with a curtain to allow more privacy.

Local attractions

If you’re an adrenaline-seeking sort of person, Porth Neigwl – or Hell’s Mouth beach as it’s known in English – is just the place for a spot of surfing or kitesurfing (a five-minute drive). Lessons are available for the uninitiated, and a couple of shops in Abersoch, which also has a handful of cafés, bars, pubs and restaurants, hire out equipment. Abersoch beach (five minutes) is a calmer part of the coast, so head here for paddleboarding and kayaking on the rentals available, or sign up with the Abersoch Sailing School for a stint on the sea. Activities are to be had at Glasfryn Parc as well, including go-karting, Segway riding, wakeboarding and bowling (25 minutes). For a change of scenery, amble inland to the Plas yn Rhiw manor house and get a glimpse of the gorgeous gardens (10 minutes), then crack on towards Criccieth Castle (half an hour) to hike up to the hilltop ruin and gawp at the excellent view over the coast below.
