Liked: lovely wardens made us feel welcome. excellent facilities with several clean showers and good dishwashing and laundry area, all indoors. lots of hot water on tap and working washing machine and dryer. A small shop with the essentials. All this and the site is located within 30 min drive of Cardiff and a 10 min drive to the beach. Pitches are well spaced and power and water nearby to all the pitches.
Disliked: The site is located near to other amenities which made a small amount of noise on one occasion, but then its also ideally located for them as well.

Liked: Welcomed on arrival with good pre-visit comms (we brought our arrival time forward from the evening to 1pm), everything ready when we got there. A secure site with all the necessary amenities in good order, good showers and washroom, well maintained service areas (Elsan, recycling, fresh water). Huge spacing between pitches, there are plenty of semi permanent Tourers there which bodes well and means the site can be quieter than it appears. Weeks of rain before arrival meant the grass was unavoidably suboptimal but the wardens allowed for this with pitching instructions so we had the side door onto the hardstanding. Very easy access to Cowbridge, Barry, Bridgend and Llantwit Major station just a 5 min drive or short taxi away. Race circuit next door was not a problem and was not in use when we were there. Top tip - read the directions they send and avoid the narrow village from the North, go via Cowbridge link road - we managed ok on the way there but avoided the squeeze coming home. A good base to explore from.
