  • Peaceful Pembrokeshire campsite with rural views near Narberth
  • A 20-minute drive to the A40, the Preseli Hills and Oakwood Theme Park
  • Camping in a farm meadow; shop, café and pub five minutes’ drive
Croeso (a warm Welsh welcome) to Bloomfield Farm, set in the middle of glorious Pembrokeshire countryside. This peaceful but easily accessible site (it’s easy to find and 20 minutes’ drive from the A40) is located in 15 acres of green meadows, so there’s more than enough space here to relax and unwind. While going about your day on site, take some time to admire the spectacular views – which are even more spectacular at sunrise and sunset on clear days. And the views don't stop at dusk, either – this is a dark skies area with no light pollution, so after the sun sets you can sit back and watch the stars glittering overhead. Simple site facilities include separate male and female showers with lots of hot water. Campfires and barbecues are allowed, and you can top up kindling on site for a small charge. You’re welcome to bring dogs, and there’s masses of room in the meadow for them to have a run around. Maenclochog (five minutes’ drive) is the nearest village with all local amenities, including shops, a café, pub and a petrol station. For more major stocking-up, the market town of Narberth (15 minutes) has a handy supermarket as well as various high-street stores.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Large pitches are fully serviced-even had our own tap! Beautiful views, sunsets and stars. Plenty of room to enjoy and chill out. Friendly and helpful owners.

Disliked: No footpaths from site-but we knew that. One female and male toilet and shower with cold no cover washing up facilities-but I wouldn’t be put off by that. Great powerful and free shower

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: A brilliant family run friendly business! Can’t fault anything, apart from the typical Welsh weather we had at the time of our stay. Would definitely return to Bloomfield!

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Bloomfield Farm is a quiet, very well maintained greenfield high up on the side of a hill with views for miles and miles on a clear day. Farmer G and his wife were very friendly and helpful. There are multiple pitches around the edge of the field with a tap and electric hook up, but the very large green field stays clear so you have lots of room. There's two toilets and two showers which are very new, clean and work well - built into wooden huts; There's also a sink for hand washing. On a clear night it's very dark with a fantastic display of stars. Location wise it's a 1.5miles from Maenclochog up the road with a local shop, cafe, garage and pub. Narbeth is 10 miles away with more choice of shops and places to eat and drink - a lovely town. The roads are very very quiet, so driving easy. Cardigan, Fishguard, St Davids, Tenby, Pembroke, etc are all between 35-45 minutes away on fairly quiet roads, it gets a bit busier as you head further south.

Disliked: I didn't dislike anything - it was so peaceful, with so much space and all very well maintained. I'd say the my only dislike was having to pack up and come home!

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: We have just had the most wonderful stay at Bloomfield Farm. Farmer G and Diane could not have been better hosts. So welcoming, so ready to help with anything you need and most importantly, they were wonderful with our little girl. The views are incredible. There’s a water supply at every pitch! And the shower was hot and more powerful than our own shower at home! Genuinely dog friendly. Can’t wait to go back and take our friends. Diolch yn fawr Farmer G!

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Beautiful site. The views are breathtaking and the owners are lovely and so helpful. Even gave a map and ideas on what to do in the area. Definitely worth a visit.

Disliked: The only downside was a lack of washing up area but not a big problem and they already have plans to install one.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay over bank holiday. We were warmly welcomed and well looked after by the owners. The farm is nicely kept and thoughtfully laid out with generous sized flat pitches, each pitch has its own water and electric, the shower is powerful and hot, the facilities are clean, and there's a huge enclosed dog walking field. Amazing countryside views too and the optional fire pit was great. The farm is well located and an easy drive to many local amenities and activities whether it's market towns, beaches, castles, resevoir shopping and more. We can't wait to go back!

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Really friendly hosts, great location and good facilities, our dog loved the secure dog field & we enjoyed the fire pit we hired on arrival. My only suggestion would be for a sink for hand washing and washing up, but only a minor thing!

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Warm welcome from Farmer G, his wife and son. Very clean toilets and lovely warm shower. Farmer G was extremely helpful. Lovely quiet and peaceful field with so many stars to see at night while sitting around the fire which farmer G supplied for us.

Disliked: Not much to do in the immediate local area but a good base for exploring

Local attractions

Grab the hiking boots and head for the Preseli Hills (20 minutes’ drive) for a thorough workout on steep gradients with superb views, or have a yomp up to Foel Cwmcerwyn (25 minutes), the highest point in Pembrokeshire. If you'd rather be out on the water, go kayaking at Llys-y-Frân Country Park and Reservoir (10 minutes), while cyclists circumnavigate the lake or zoom down mountain-biking trails. You're never too far from the coast in Pembrokeshire, with more cycling and hiking adventures on offer, as well as beaches like Newport Sands (half an hour), which has shallow water suitable for kids wanting to swim. Other family-oriented days out include the daredevil rollercoaster rides at Oakwood Theme Park (20 minutes), where there is also mini golf and an air target shooting range, or Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (25 minutes), where younger kids can get up close to furry farmyard animals and have a whizz around on fairground carousels.
