  • Glamping site two miles from Fishguard/the Pembrokeshire Coast Path
  • Electricity, proper beds, firepits and well-equipped kitchens
  • Licensed restaurant on site with home-cooked meals
What a gorgeous site this is – and excellently located and equipped too. Tregroes Glamping is a glampsite in Pembrokeshire countryside, set up for cosy, comfortable and effortless stays – and all just a couple of miles from the beach. Run by very helpful and friendly Sam and Colin, Tregoes is a site where everything has been well thought out: each unit has electricity, proper beds and a well-equipped log kitchen, as well as a firepit outside and logs available on site. The views are rather stellar around here as well – take a look at the site pics… If you want to cart any extra kit along to make your stay all the more homely (personal library, your satin pillows, crates of wine…), car parking is allowed right alongside each unit so there’s no need to stagger along overly laden. There’s plenty of room to spread out too, as the site’s set up for everyone to be far enough away from any neighbours. Aiming for a break from cooking during your break? Trot to the site's own Tregroes Pantry for Welsh breakfasts, home-cooked meals using locally sourced grub and drinks from the licensed bar. The folk here also arrange themed evenings and can sort packed lunches for those heading out and about. And where might you take those lunches? Tregoes is two miles from the Pembrokeshire fishing town of Fishguard; a cycle path runs from the site for most of the way. For active days, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is 10 minutes’ drive away, and surfing, diving and boating are easily sorted all around the coast.

Geodesic dome

Liked: We stayed in the Geo Dome. Really great quality beds and furnishings. Such a lovely set up. Host were brilliant, the ladies in the pub and restaurant were so lovely and helpful, and having that venue on sight was a game changer. Never stayed on a campsite with rainforest showers either, so they really have gone the extra mile.

Disliked: Nice to be able to specify a particular Geo Dome on the website as some are in better location and different sizes. All our lovely though

From the manager: So pleased that your family enjoyed the geodome, the facilities and on-site bar and restaurant. We have 4 geodomes, and customers can message if they have a preferred location and we will try and best to allocate based on preference.

Local attractions

This is a wildlife and marine wildlife haven: take a boat out from the bay or catch the daily coastal shuttle to Strumble Head lighthouse to spy dolphins and seals in the waters below (make some time to stop here too, as the scenery is spectacular and there’s an old smuggling pub to check out.) Elsewhere around the coast, wildlife boat safaris flow along to St Davids Peninsula and the wildlife havens of Skomer Island and Ramsey Island. History seekers have old buildings in local villages to wander around, along with old forts, Bronze Age roads, and hills dotted with ancient stone circles. Or venture further afield to St Davids (25 minutes) for the cathedral and Bishop's Palace, or to St Dogmaels (35 minutes’ drive). You can hike to the old coastal village of Newport from Fishguard too, on the 12-mile trek along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and from there another 14 miles to St Dogmaels. Day trip to Ireland? Easily sorted: the ferry port is only a mile and a half away for services to Rosslare.
