  • Peaceful and simple site in the Pembrokeshire countryside
  • A 10-minute drive from Haverfordwest; 20 minutes from the coast
  • Spacious site with a private toilet, shower and firepit at each pitch
Help yourself to a triple serving of green outdoorsy times at Three Fields Campsite, a spacious site in a 10-acre Pembrokeshire meadow. As well as this spot's proximity to some of the prettiest bits of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, there's easy access to Haverfordwest (10 minutes' drive) plus views over the Preseli Hills. This is a quiet site, with a number of pitches that's kept in the single digits. Keeping things small certainly comes with advantages: major pluses include more room to roam, super-spacious plots and a private toilet, shower and firepit for each group. Kids and adults who are into their nature are particularly likely to have a high time of it here: the local wildlife scene is vibrant indeed, with all manner of birds (including birds of prey and owls) often making an appearance overhead. For barista-style coffees, teas and cakes there's a horsebox catering trailer on site, plus a small site shop that stocks firewood, marshmallows and other holiday essentials. To really increase your relaxation levels, yoga classes are held on site on warmer summer evenings. The classes are accessible to all and make a great end to a day of exploring – book on arrival. The site is bordered by a quiet regional train line, with trains passing roughly once an hour during the day. The closest station, along with the nearest supermarket, is about three miles down the road in Haverfordwest, opening up car-free day trips to Milford Haven or Fishguard.

Kiki the Horse Lorry lodge

Liked: We stayed in the horse box for 2 night, really lovely… was nice to sit on the decking with a cup of tea first thing in the morning. It was clean and well looked after. The campsite itself was great, lots of things to explore for our 4 year old, would definitely return to camp next time. Staff we great, coffee hut was a nice touch too, would be even better if they did decaf coffee as well.

Non-electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Probably the best camp site we've ever stayed at. It was an extremely quiet and well maintained site with spacious pitches. Really loved the whole eco ethos of the site and the compost toilets were absolutely fine, we didn't mind them at all. Plus of course we had exclusive use of our very own one which was fab. The coffee van was very much appreciated every morning for our caffeine hit. It was delicious and a rival to any established coffee house. While we didn't meet Naomi, we had lots of interactions with Patrick who was the perfect host and we felt nothing would be too much trouble to him. He even came around one morning to give our old camper a jump start, thanks very much for that. If we are ever in the area again we won't hesitate to use Three Fields.

Disliked: Absolutely nothing.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (private bathroom amenities)

Liked: Lovely quiet site. Pitch size good, fire pit on pitch excellent. Honesty store selling basic goods- biscuit, baked beans etc. Hot drinks stall on site in the mornings for an hour selling tea, coffee, hot choc etc. Lovely for families- small kids area with sandpit and some games. Helpful charging area for devices- felt safe leaving devices to charge whilst off site. Washing up facilities- and helpful icepack exchange freezer. Lots of great beaches within easy reach, plenty to see. Cinema in Haverford for rainy days. Helpful hosts Designated showers per pitch great.

Disliked: Fairly busy trainline along the bottom of the site, regular services latish at night and early morning. Composting toilet took a bit of getting used to! Shower a bit "webby!". Probably not a big deal to most but if, like me, you are not a spider fan might take a bit of getting used to! Shower not on the actual pitch but only a minute walk from the pitch.

Kiki the Horse Lorry lodge

Liked: Wonderful family focused campsite where the children really could run about happily and enjoy the games and wild meadow paths on offer here. Barista coffee hut very much welcomed by the adults and our stay in Kiki the horse lorry was very clean and comfortable. Showers lovely and hot.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (private bathroom amenities)

Liked: Met by Patrick who cheerfully explained the site and more importantly the workings of the compost toilet which after a five day stay we all agreed was great and true to his word there was no smell !! Beautiful quiet location. Superb sized pitch with a sheltered bench and seating provided on all tent pitches with each pitch having it's own allocated shower and toilet. There are sinks provided for washing up together with a freezer for ice pack exchange and an honesty box for a selection of sweets, treats and essentials such as matches, kindling and ice creams. There is an area set aside for children incorporating a sand pit, good old fashioned games such as hoopla and coconut shy and like everything else on site kept to an impecable standard. Great location and within easy reach of Haverfordwest where there are numerous shops/supermarkets to restock fresh supplies. In our opinion it seemed like "posh" wild camping with the quiet seemingly isolated peaceful surroundings, the beautiful views but with our own private amenities.

Disliked: Having to leave for home.

Non-electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Such an amazing little find! Based on 3 large grass fields in a lovely, quiet and peaceful location just outside the centre of Haverfordwest. Each pitch is separated by well maintained hedges and comes with a self-constructed eco-toilet cubicle and a pre-dug firepit. The toilets and shower facilities are cleaned spotless and are built very very well. Instant hot water from the showers which makes all the difference! The staff are so lovely and accommodating and I can't wait to stop here again soon! It looks as if they have plans to construct more on this site in future, a carpenter was hard at work constructing more shower/toilet facilities next to a lovely old renovated horse trailer, a superb "glamping" addition! I thoroughly recommend Three Fields Campsite, and look forward to stopping here again soon!

From the manager: Thank you so much guys! What lovely words, it means the world. So happy you two enjoyed a little getaway on the bank holiday weekend and we can't wait to have you back again :) That carpenter is actually Pat (co-owner), I've showed him this review and he's delighted he looks like the real deal haha! Your his favourite guests already! P.s. love the photos!

Non-electric grass tent pitch (private bathroom amenities)

Liked: I loved everything about this campsite! So peaceful, so clean, ideally located for the town centre and all the beautiful places in Pembrokeshire, friendly owners and lush coffee. They have thought of everything e.g. washing line in shelter, hooks and shower curtain to keep clothes dry when enjoying the outdoor shower, charging points for phones. I could go on and on! You know it’s going to be special from the beautifully painted sign at the entrance. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back. Very reasonable rates for what you get included in pitch. A private pitch too!

From the manager: Oh thank you so much Rachel!! It was absolutely lovely to meet you all and have you and the boys stay with us this Summer. Hope your journey home was made better by your trip to St Davids and you aren't suffering too much from the holiday blues!! Can't wait to see you all again next year (hopefully!) Naomi & Pat
