  • Small family-friendly site 20 minutes' drive from Pembroke
  • Sandy beaches around 20 minutes away in Tenby and Saundersfoot
  • Designated dog exercise area on site
This countryside site is an excellent spot for anyone looking to unwind surrounded by Pembrokeshire greenery: Oaklea Camping and Glamping Park is in a central spot surrounded by the Pembrokeshire countryside, and its coast and towns. The Daugleddau estuary is also close by, with yet more great places for walkers to explore. Oklea Camping and Glamping Park is a small site with spacious pitches. Dogs are welcome, as long as they're kept on a lead (and booked for the dog-friendly pitch types only - they're not permitted in the shepherd's huts). Handily, the site has a designated dog exercise area where they can run free under the supervision of their owner. When you're ready to get out and explore, this is an excellent spot to reach the walks, beaches and castles that Pembrokeshire’s famed for. Get as sandy and muddy as you like, safe in the knowledge that back on site is a toasty heated bathroom with hot showers.

Electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: brilliant campsite, owners were extremely friendly and so so helpful! So close to all the main attractions in the tenby area such as oakwood, heatherton, wild lakes aqua park, manor wildlife park. An all round pleaser for the whole family!

Disliked: Honestly not a bad word to say about the campsite

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: The pitch was lovely. All nicely spaced out. They had recently changed it to hard standing pitches. It was immaculate. Jayne and her husband were fabulous hosts. The toilet block was immaculate. Don't let the unisex description put you off, each room is equipped with a toilet, wash basin a handy chair and shower.

Disliked: The electric tripped a few times. We swapped with the campers in tents in the field behind as they only needed 10 amp so all was good.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: What an excellent site. Run by a very helpful couple, Jayne and Barrie. They have recently put in some more hard pitches after all the wet weather, which also have electric and tap water with a grass area for your awning. Some of the pitches have free WiFi as well. The toilet/showers are fairly new and immaculate. The showers are individual rooms with a lovely large shower area, luxury shower mat, basin, toilet, chair and hand dryer. There are two kitchen areas, bowls, sponges and washing up liquids, a shared fridge, microwave and recycling/rubbish bins are provided. There are also a couple of chemical toilet disposals areas. There is a dogs playing field and also a football playing field, which they were putting more electric points in during our stay. The site also has glamping shepherd huts which looked very nice. The site is in a very quiet remote beautiful area, with lots of birds for the spotters. They also had eggs for sale. Also quite central for exploring Pembrokeshire. We will return!! There are quite a few theme parks for the children and pubs in the surrounding area.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike, however a shelf near/in shower would good for your washing products.

Electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Lovely site, quiet and in a great location. We had a choice of pitches and tucked ourselves in a corner with hard standing parking. The toilet and shower facilities were brand new and excellent, warm and clean. The kitchen area looks out on to the bird feeders which meant I was very distracted by all the little birds coming and going instead of washing up! Friendly and very helpful hosts.

Disliked: Nothing

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: We were met by 2 really lovely hosts who showed us to our pitch. We hooked up the electric and had fresh water also. The shower/toilet facilties were spotless and the shower was nice and powerful. Each cubicle was heated aswell, which included shower, toilet and sink. Great location, not far from Tenby and easy access to the west Coast for us to continue our journey. We will definalty stay again if we camp in South Wales.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: This site deserves more credit! From the kindness of the owner (so sorry I didn’t ask your name) to how beautiful and well maintained the site is, it was a very short but memorable campaign experience. We requested a fire pit and logs a few hours before arriving and they were provided promptly. My little girl wanted marshmallows but it was too late for a shopping trip the owner kindly brought us some from her grandkids. The camping site is clean, has a cozy feel about it and facilities were all spotless. It was an impromptu stop for is but will 100% be returning as a planned visit. Thank you!

Disliked: Nothing here

Local attractions

You’ve got to catch a castle or few if you come to these parts – Pembrokeshire’s dotted with fine examples. With a drive of 20 minutes or so you can take in the ruins of Carew Castle (often handsomely reflected in the neighbouring mill pond), stroll around seaside Manorbier Castle or head to Pembroke to see the fortress where Henry VII was born. And you’ve got to take in a beach or few too. There are the traditional resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot (20 minutes’ drive), many surfers' favourite spot Freshwater West (half an hour) and the utterly gorgeous Barafundle Bay, often tipped as one of the world’s best (half an hour). Birdwatching boat trips to Skomer from Dale and dolphin-spotting safaris from St Davids are both about 45 minutes away. For family-friendly attractions, see Manor Wildlife Park (15 minutes), the Heatherton World of Activities (15 minutes), Wild Lakes Wales (five minutes) and Oakwood Theme Park (10 minutes).
