  • Family-friendly bell tents on an eco-friendly, four-acre smallholding
  • A 15-minute drive from St Davids, Newgale beach and Blue Lagoon
  • Shared facilities include a barbecue firepit and camp kitchen
What should you expect at Brynderi Glamping? Countryside views and spectacular coastline just 10 minutes’ drive away, for one. A quiet, rural spot on the St David’s Peninsula too. Of course, the highlight is the fleet of fully-equipped canvas bell tents, handily located just 15 minutes’ drive from the cathedral city of St Davids and close to surf hotspots such as Newgale beach (15 minutes’ drive) and Whitesands Bay (20 minutes). This little, rural Pembrokeshire glamping site is surrounded by farmland, so watch for kites and starlings sweeping overhead, stars at night and badgers or lizards. Part of a four-acre family smallholding, it’s nicely tucked away and has a soundtrack of distant cattle, birds and the occasional grumble of tractors or farmyard activity. This is a top spot for a beach break: the coastal path is 10 minutes’ drive away and there are all manners of outdoor activities on the menu. Think surfing, paddleboarding, swimming, crabbing, coasteering and cliff jumping… Just park up in the field. It’s not far to carry your belongings to your bell tent, which is layered with mats and extra top rugs for comfort. The tents each have a comfy double bed (including cotton bed linen and a feather duvet and pillows), a futon sofa bed that can sleep an extra two, an electric heater or woodburning stove and extras such as coat hooks, a boot tray, towel rail (bring your own towels, please) and electric points. There’s a picnic bench outside for alfresco meals. The shared facilities include a flushing loo, hot-water shower, gas barbecue, firepit, wetsuit wash and hanging area and a camp kitchen with an electric double hob, toaster, kettle, crockery, basic cookware and a small milk fridge (this is designed to fit just a couple of essentials). Based on eco and self-sufficient values, the site has been developed by the owners’ extended family over the past decade. They grow veggies and keep chickens and bees, so there may be seasonal produce for sale. The electricity and hot water are solar-powered, guests are encouraged to recycle and there's a small woodland and wildflower meadow for peaceful strolls.
