  • Quiet country breaks on a peaceful Pembrokeshire goat farm
  • A mile from Ceibwr Bay; Cardigan 15 minutes' drive
  • Large 22-acre site with sea views in all fields; fresh eggs for sale
Penwaun Goat Farm is a peaceful Pembrokeshire site a mile from the spectacular scenery of the Wales Coast Path at Ceibwr Bay. This stretch of the seaside is splendid indeed, being home to coves, caves and wildlife like seals and dolphins. This 22-acre farm spot has sea views from each and every one of its grassy fields, while the top of the site has vistas that stretch all the way over to the Preseli Hills. With such surrounds, you may find yourself gazing into the distance for hours on end, but this west Wales site's foreground also has a lot to keep guests entertained, including a large (and sometimes nosey) herd of goats, a pond with a jetty and inflatable boat for laidback rafting and chickens that can sort you out with fresh free-range eggs. Facilities are basic at this pop-up farm site: there's a compost toilet in the fields or, a short walk away by the main house, a flushing toilet and shower in an outbuilding. For leisure time, there are acres of space to play sports and games, and if you ask nicely the owners might let you feed and milk the goats. Dogs are welcome here, but please remember that there are animals about, so they'll need to be on their best behaviour at all times. For food, head to Penrallt Garden Centre (30 minutes' walk) where there's an independent café that the owners recommend.
