As Alsace locations go, this is a particularly fine one… Camping Onlycamp Vauban is just on the edge of Neuf-Brisach, so it’s got both a peaceful atmosphere and easy access to shops, restaurants and other amenities when you need them. This is also a great location for days out – Colmar and Mulhouse are both close by, and the German border is just a few kilometres away for jaunts over the border to places like Freiburg. The surrounding area is packed with places for a nature-filled day out or family attractions for the kids. Long-distance cyclists, take note – this is a handy site to know about, close to the EuroVelo 6 route and well set up with handy amenities including a bike storage facility. As for other facilities, well, there’s plenty here to make life nice and comfortable, whether you’re stopping over for a night or settling in for a longer break. A pétanque court and play area have been installed for a bit of gentle entertainment, and there’s a bar where you can order local beers, wine and cocktails (surely a holiday essential…). Food is also easily sorted, with a small grocery shop for self-caterers and a snack bar (selling things like pizzas, salads and tartes flambées) for those who’d rather someone else did the cooking. You can also order bread and pastries deliveries in high season. For more foodie options, it’s a 10-minute walk to the centre of town. Essential facilities have been well thought out here, including a motorhome chemical disposal point and heated bathrooms with disabled access.

Liked: Freundliches, leider zu weniges Personal.

Disliked: Man erkennt, dass der Platz mal sehr schön war. Aktuell gleicht er einer Baustelle, elektrische Anlagen schadhaft, für Kinder lebensgefährlich. Nachts keine Beleuchtung, was bei den schlagloch gepflasterten Wegen voller Pfützen recht gefährlich ist.

Wir haben Sie gewarnt, dass wir uns noch in der Renovierung befinden. Einige Bereiche des Campingplatzes wurden geschlossen, und selbst in diesen Bereichen ist es nicht gefährlich (es liegt also an Ihnen, Ihren Kindern zu verbieten, in die verbotenen Bereiche zu gehen). Liked: Platz frei wählbar. 5 Min. fußläufig zum Festungsgraben.

Disliked: Direkt an der Bahnlinie und somit vorallem bei Regen sehr laut. Sanitäranlage im hinteren Bereich unterirdisch hässlich retro + verdreckt... oder abgeschlossen. Im vorderen Bereich in Ordnung. Stromanschluss teilweise mit 25 Meter Kabel nicht erreichbar...daher vorher schauen. Es gibt kein WiFi und auch sonst nix.. Vorher einkaufen 😉

Liked: Good size pitches with plenty of trees around

Disliked: Some facilities rather tired and dilapidated, with areas cordoned off with rubbish in them. Others were good though. Lack of washing up facilities.

Liked: Piękna, cicha przestrzeń. Parcele przestrzenne, w każdej części łatwy dostęp do sanitariatów. Miła obsługa w recepcji. Możliwość bezpłatnego korzystania z rowerko-gokardów dla dzieci. Bardzo blisko możliwość zakupienia wina oraz zrobienia zakupów - ponieważ w bardzo bliskiej odległości dużo sklepów oraz pięknych miasteczek. Na kempingu źródło wody pitnej co jest bardzo ważne przy tych upałach.

Disliked: Można by bardziej zadbać o czystość sanitariatów oraz większy asortyment w wieczornym barze a także możliwość płacenia tam gotówką.

Local attractions

Alsace is a fabulous area for those with an interest in history and culture – and an easy place to start is MAUSA Vauban - Musée d'Art Urbain et du Street Art, 10 minutes’ walk away in Neuf-Brisach. The pretty Old Town in Colmar (25 minutes’ drive) is well worth a visit, as is its Unterlinden Museum (and it’s the capital of Alsatian wine too…) If you’re here to explore the natural landscapes, plot a course to the bird observatory in Marckolsheim (20 minutes) or head to Île du Rhin (10 minutes) for more bird-spotting plus walks, bike rides, fishing and sailing. There’s an excellent zoo in Mulhouse (35 minutes), along with the Cité du Train and Musée National de l’Automobile for those whose interests skew more towards engineering. Days out with the kids might include bouncing about on the trampolines at Xperience Park (35 minutes), mountain biking, archery and clambering through the trees at Form’Aventures, a whole lot of outdoor antics at Waouland, or a barefoot trail, toboggans and waterslide at Wiidoo’Gliss (all an hour's drive).

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

Extras

Motorbike(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.

General

Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
