Restaurants are also a short stroll away around Loué if you're after more choice. The town has a park for the kids to play at too, as well as a 16-kilometre-long botanical walking circuit (starting from the Place Hector Vincent just outside the site). Local attractions

If you’re happy to drive, many spectacular places are a short distance from the park, including the medieval frescos at the Mosaîque Garden in Asnières-sur-Vègre (20 minutes’ drive away) and the historical buildings of Le Mans city (half an hour), which are lit up prettily at night. Hoping for a hol with more of a nature-focused slant? The Valley of the Caves of Saulges is a scenic area with wooded canyons and caverns daubed with prehistoric paintings, about 30 minutes from Camping La Sittelle, while the lake at Mansigné (45 minutes) will have you pedalo boating on the water or basking at the beach. If you’re seeking something more exotic, animals from far-flung nations live at Zoo de la Flèche (50 minutes from the site) – make your way here to get up close and personal with some of the complex's 1,600 types of species.
