Electric grass and earth tent pitch (comfort, medium)

Liked: Lots of flowers, well connected to villages surrounding by bike, friendly staff

Disliked: Facilities outdated, shower was not that strong and there wasnt much "dry room". The spaces are not very accessible to campers/campervans as they seem smaller than advertised, Are mostly grass, have quite a slantand can have large trees. We were first given a grass pitch that was almost all soft dirt. We asked to switch immediatly to one of the gravel pitches because with the Rain that had passed we wouldve dug our van in, the switch was No problem. It still took us about 20 minutes to get out of the gravel pitch as there was a lange hump to the asphalted road, which is nearly impossible to get up on from wet grass/gravel.

Electric grass and earth pitch (comfort, large)

Liked: It was the best place. Surrounded by forestry and it had a swimming pool you could use regardless of weather! People were so nice and friendly. We mostly wild camp but needed somewhere to stay that we knew would be okay. This place has good toilets and showers, even has washing and drying facilities. Friendly staff.

Disliked: There isn’t any cycle hire on site, it’s actually a drive away. It also didn’t have any cooking facilities if you usually need them. As stated we usually wild camp so it doesn’t matter to us.

Electric grass and earth pitch (comfort, large)

Electric optional grass and earth pitch (comfort)

Liked: Site was quiet with good facilities and dog friendly. Pitches were a good size and lots of trees for shade.

Disliked: This is not a dislike, just an observation. Description says site is 200 meters from Lac Leman but it is a lot further away and a good 30 minute walk to the nearest access.

Electric grass and earth pitch (comfort, large)

Liked: The pitches were spacious and had nice scenery. The toilet and shower facilities were clean and there were two separate options to chose from. There were sinks, mirrors and hairdryers which was an added bonus. The staff were really friendly and helped us to check in and get all the info we needed despite the language barrier. The snack bar/restaurant was really good. We had one dinner from there and I would recommend. However, it would be worth asking about themed nights ect that the restaurant puts on as, it was fully booked for our second night of the stay. Has a lovely lake/beach 20 minute walk away which also has a snack bar. Was a lovely area to stay in.

Local attractions

No doubt you’ll start your stay by racing straight down to the lake shore – perhaps to take a swim from the beach in Messery (20 minutes’ walk). You can hire kayaks, paddleboards, pedalos and windsurfers down here too if you’d like to get out on the lake. Yvoire (five minutes’ drive) may well be your next port of call – and you’ll quickly see why this lakeside village has been classified as one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France. There’s a classic castle to visit, along with remnants of the walls and gates that once surrounded the fortified village. It’s also worth taking a stroll through the Jardin des Cinq Sens, and/or following the two-kilometre walking and bike trail to Domaine de Rovorée before returning to the village for a restaurant meal. For other days out, you might like to visit the big birds at Les Aigles du Léman (15 minutes), ride the funicular from Thonon-les-Bains (half an hour) for spectacular lake views, or cross the border to Geneva (half an hour) to see the famed water fountain, stroll through the Old Town and climb the cathedral towers.
