Seafront site opposite a big public beach

All roads lead to Rome – and all roads should lead to the beach too. The spectacular seafront setting of Camping Internazionale Castelfusano means you can have both: it's slap bang opposite a big sandy beach, and only 25 kilometres from the fab old piles and centuries of history of Rome. Campeggio Internazionale Castelfusano is three kilometres from the town of Ostia, under an hour from Rome by public transport. Base yourself here for beach days and city sightseeing, wildlife wanders in the State Natural Reserve of the Roman Coast next door, and proximity to sailing, horse riding, tennis and scuba diving, all within five kilometres. The site runs a kids' club in summer with activities such as crafts and juggling, alongside evening entertainment for all including live music and theme dinners. There's a pool and a playground, a TV room and table tennis, and a bar, restaurant and mini market. Among the amenities are a launderette with washing machines and tumble dryers; a washing-up area, and three washrooms with toilets and free hot showers. Barbecues are allowed and gas cylinders are available for sale.

Liked: Die Lage mit der Nähe zum Strand. Der Campingplatz ist weitläufig und hat genug Platz. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Sanitären Anlagen sind sauber und es gibt Waschmaschinen. Außergewöhnlich ist der schwarze Sand am Strand. Sieht man nicht alle Tage und kenne ich so nur an wenigen Stellen in Costa Rica. Einfach etwas besonderes. Vielen Dank für dieses schöne Fleckchen Erde.

Disliked: Nichts.

Liked: Private pitches, which were cosy, the sanitary was basic but really clean. Super easy public transport to Rome. Staff was really nice. Access to the beach available.

Disliked: The beach, were we could go to was really small and crowded

Liked: Friendly staff. Handy little shop. Bar area. Clean showers/toilets. Low key but fun children’s entertainment (bubble man). Easy access to Rome. Zeon beach (bus ride)

Disliked: Road noise. Swimming pool was above ground temporary type. Closest beach enclosed by walls either side but easy to get bus Zeon which was beautiful.

Liked: La tranquilidad, la sombra, la amplitud de la parcela, la cercanía a la playa. Nosotros no fuimos a Roma, pero parece estar bien comunicado (un autobús a Ostia y de ahí un metro a Roma). El billete simple son 1,5 € y el billete 24 horas 7 €.

Disliked: Hay pocas duchas y no en muy buen estado. Los baños también podrían estar más limpio. Las piscinas son de las que se montan, no son piscinas construidas.

Local attractions

In between all those days in Rome, explore the local coastline and its beaches, the wildlife areas and heaps of other old sites and ruins in the region. Sailing, horse riding, tennis and scuba diving will keep you busy in and out of the water within five kilometres of the site. Next to Campeggio Internazionale Castelfusano is the State Natural Reserve of the Roman Coast, covering almost 16,000 hectares including the last section of the Tiber and the mouth of the Arrone river, in an area of dunes and villages, archaeological remains and pinewoods. The ruins of Ostia Antica and the Castle of Julius II are within the reserve, 10 kilometres from base. Rome, 25 kilometres away, has enough old sights (the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and St Peter's Basilica for starters) to keep you geekily occupied for yonks, but if you yearn for yet more, a good day trip is to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Villa and Villa d'Este, 50 kilometres away at Tivoli. Less culturally but most amusedly, the Zoo Marine amusement park and Rainbow Magicland theme park are 10 and 40 kilometres away.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Unsupervised minors must have a letter of authorisation from their parents or legal guardian.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 10 day(s) of arrival.

Dogs

General
