  • Large seafront site in a pine forest just outside Lido di Jesolo
  • Venice, Treviso and Padua all within an hour's drive
  • Direct beach access, swimming pool, restaurant and family activities
Ooh, a Venice holiday – that’s a fine plan. But also, ooh, a beach holiday – that’s an equally fine plan. So which is it to be: city or coast? Or how about a bit of both, with a stay at the nifty Veneto location that is Jesolo Camping Village? That’s right, this spacious site is in a fab seaside spot, within easy reach of day trips to Venice (or Treviso, Padua and Conegliano if you’re after something a bit different…) and close to family attractions, restaurants and shops in Jesolo or Lido di Jesolo, both 10 minutes’ drive away. And it’s within even easier reach of those beach days as it’s right next to a long sandy stretch, in a peaceful pine forest with views over the Adriatic Sea. With that beach right on site it may well be rather tempting to spend all your time loafing about on the loungers. There is, however, an equally tempting pizzeria/restaurant on site, so if you’d like to work up an appetite/work off that extra pizza slice, you may like to take a swim at the outdoor pool or plan a game of something on the sports field. Rewards don’t have to be pizza-shaped; they could also be provided with a drink from the bar or some time at the wellness area. If it’s more action-packed times you’ve got in mind, come along in summer when the place is packed with activities and entertainment, including creative workshops and games for the bambini and sports tournaments and evening shows for all ages.

Local attractions

With Venice only 45 minutes or so away in the car, it’s really worth starting your planning with a bit of time in the area’s star attraction, taking in all those famed sights including St Mark’s Square, the Rialto Bridge, the Guggenheim Museum and the gondolas of the Grand Canal. If that’s given you something of a taste for scenic urban wanders, check out some of the area’s other enticing towns. Treviso (50 minutes’ drive) is a good place to start for canalside strolls and ancient city walls, or you may like to head to Padua (an hour) to see the cathedral, botanic gardens and Cappella degli Scrovegni – a gorgeous art-filled place that’s often likened to the Sistine Chapel. On a smaller scale, the castle and arcaded walkways of Conegliano (an hour) are good for an amble too. Need a day or two closer to base? Stick around in Lido di Jesolo to meet exotic beasts at Tropicarium animal park (10 minutes’ drive), taste the tropical lifestyle at Caribe Bay waterpark (15 minutes) or play a round at the golf course (15 minutes).
