Liked: The tranquillity of the site. The very helpful reception staff. Clean ablution facilities with plenty of hot water. 30 minute drive to Guadix. Excellent value for money.

Disliked: Tight access to some pitches for a 7.3 m caravan and 4.7 m long car, but no great problem with a motor mover.

Disliked: Groups of motorhomes coping together. It got very noisy at times.

Liked: Good situation, clean and well kept. Wonderful helpful receptionist.

Disliked: The ground was so hard our tent pegs bent right over. The bar/cafe didn't open for breakfast until 11.00 am.

Liked: Freundlicher Empfang, sanitäranlagen gepflegt und sauber. Für einen Abstecher etwas abgelegen und keine richtige Seelage. Der See ist wunderschön aber das Ufer lädt nicht zum schwimmen ein. Wer wandern möchte ist hier sicherlich richtig.

Local attractions

Negratín Reservoir may be watersports-central but it’s also a spectacular must-see, surrounded as it is by arid mountains layered with coloured rock strata and nicknamed the “badlands”. Sitting in the centre of Granada Geopark, these landscapes are unique in southern Spain. The hot springs at Baños de Zujar (25 minutes’ drive) have been in use since ancient Roman times: sink into the waters, rub mud into your skin and get ready for some serious floating rest and relaxation. To time travel further back into history, head for Gorafe Megalithic Park (45 minutes), an archaeological site with more than 240 dolmens, 11 necropolises and several settlements from the Bronze Age to its name. Coming closer to home base, the local village of Freila (five minutes) is the smallest in the Altiplano region, and the place to see properly old, traditional Andalusia among its whitewashed cottages, cave houses and late-medieval Moorish fortress. Climb up to the Plaza de los Tambores for views over rooftops to olive groves and red-ochre coloured peaks, then head back into the village to share tapas treats in pavement cafés.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Dogs

Dogs are required to wear a muzzle.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

General

The bar is open between 01/07 and 31/12.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
The site is not liable for any refund in the event of force majeure.

Hired accommodation

Hired accommodation: €50.00 (£43.15) damage/cleanliness/bracelet deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure after inspection of your unit should no damage/losses be found.
No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.

Pool

The outdoor swimming pool is open between 01/07 and 17/09 (subject to weather conditions).

If reception is closed on arrival: please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.
Reception is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. between 01/01 and 31/12.

Safety

Firearms are not permitted.
Fires, barbecues and/or firepits will not be permitted in dry, windy and/or hot weather conditions.
Swimming in the lake is allowed.

Vehicles

The car is only included in the rate if you are travelling with a touring caravan or a tent. If you wish to bring a car along with your motorhome/campervan please select the extra.
