It’s a leisurely half-hour stroll from Camping La Estanca to the MotorLand Aragón circuit – an excellent state of affairs for petrolheads aiming to avoid traffic as they gear up for race day. The race track is far from the only attraction around these parts though: from this lakeside spot 10 minutes’ drive outside of Alcañiz’s medieval town centre there’s easy access to alfresco activities and rambles around the Estanca de Alcañiz lake and beyond into the Catalan hills. All of which combines rather well to make this a tiptop location to linger for a few days, whether you’re in town for a race or just seeking some serene time in the hills. There are peaceful spots aplenty around this tree-filled park: head to the pool or the sandy lake beach for swims and sunbathing, or retreat to the comfy chairs of the terrace for a siesta. Should you require your on-site relaxing to involve eats and drinks too, trot over to the restaurant for a table on the terrace and a menu of traditional Aragonese dishes, simple snacks and drinks. It’s also open at breakfast time for those who’d like to kick the day off with a good feed.

Liked: Der Platz liegt direkt an einem See. Die Sanitären Einrichtungen sind zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber immer sehr sauber. Für unseren Zweck der ideale Platz da die Rennstrecke Motorland Aragon in 30min. zu Fuß erreichbar ist.

Disliked: Es gibt leider keine Möglichkeit direkt am Platz Kleinigkeiten für den täglichen Bedarf zu kaufen. Das Restaurant hat unseren Geschmack nicht getroffen.

Liked: La piscina y el servicio que ofrecía el bar-restaurante. Los baños y duchas eran numerosas.

Disliked: Nada de sombra en mi parcela, imposible pasar tiempo en ella durante el día, siendo verano. Las instalaciones del baño por renovar. La carretera hasta llegar al camping, aunque no sea responsabilidad del mismo, es un peligro. Agujeros tremendos y numerosos.

Disliked: Les animaux enfermés. Manque de jeux pour enfants. Ceux en place ne paraissent pas solides. Même si l'herbe ne peut pas pousser à cause de la chaleur, il serait bien d'enlever les cailloux qui abîment les tentes. Manque d'arbre pour l'ombre. Ils mériteraient d'être arrosés tous les jours.

Local attractions

If you’re into motors of any kind, check out the calendar at MotorLand Aragón to see if there’s anything on while you’re in town – the circuit hosts all sorts of car and motorbike races throughout the year on its five-kilometre track. Up here in the hills there are plenty of fresh-air activities to fill your days with: have a chat with the friendly folk on site for advice on organising kayaking, fishing, paddleboarding, canyoning and stargazing trips around the locale. They’ll also point you in the right direction for some of the area’s best hikes or bike rides, taking in one of the waymarked botanical trails in Castelserás, perhaps, or following one of the nearby greenway cycle paths. It’s also worth spending a bit of time down in Alcañiz, 10 minutes’ drive from base: wander though the medieval centre, taking in the castle and the gothic Santa Maria la Mayor church before settling at one of the cafés around Plaza de España for a drink or ice cream.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Unsupervised minors must have a letter of authorisation from their parents or legal guardian.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
Your dog must be tattooed or microchipped.

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
Entertainment and activities are available between 01/03 and 31/12.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 12 a.m. and 8 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
The restaurant is open between 01/01 and 31/12.
You'll need an Environment Agency rod licence (you'll need to apply for this beforehand).

Pitches

Please note, pup tents are to be used for storage purposes only. Guests may not use them for sleeping.
You must follow the management directives when pitching your tent/unit and related equipment.

Pool

The outdoor swimming pool is open between 01/06 and 30/09 (subject to weather conditions).

Reception

Reception is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. between 01/01 - 30/06 and 26/09 - 05/12.
Reception is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. between 01/07 and 25/09.

Safety

Firearms are not permitted.
Open fires are prohibited.

Vehicles

The car is only included in the rate if you are travelling with a touring caravan or a tent. If you wish to bring a car along with your motorhome/campervan please select the extra.

Visitors

Visitors must register at reception and pay their fee.
