Oak View Holiday Park

Μου άρεσε: We loved our stay at Oak View. After a very long flight from Australia, Sharon was so helpful in making sure we had a hot cup of tea. The grounds were very tidy and the facilities were immaculate. I would recommend staying here. The local pub which is in walking distance,The Cock Horse was very inviting and a great meal was had.

Μου άρεσε: Just came back from 4 nights at Oak View park and had a lovely time We booked 5 pitches and most with children, the ladies went out their way to put as altogether with was very much appreciated! The site was small but had everything we needed and the toilets and shower blocks we spotless and kept clean at all times, it’s the first site I have been to where the toilet, shower and sink are all in one cubicle and I loved this especially when taking young children in too. Because the site was small our children made so many friends and we were able to keep an eye on them from the tents while the adults could relax ☺️ I would definitely recommend this site to anyone!

Από τον διαχειριστή: Thank you so much Wendy for the review! It was lovely to have you all stay and we are glad that the weather was pretty good for you for most of the weekend. We do try our best to put groups together as long as we have plenty of notice. We especially need to have this if you want to be together but are coming in with different units, ie: tents and motorhomes. We do have places where we can place you together in that situation but they are limited. Just make sure that let us know when you book! Μου άρεσε: On arrival we were able to move pitch to be with family as we didn't book together. The ladies at the site were so accommodating! Everything was clean including the toilets and the showers No queues for the washing Sink Barrier was very easy to use with no time restraints as to when we could return The ladies that own the park wandered around all the time ensuring everyone was OK Not over crowded Easy to get to even with a show on at detling showground

Δεν μου άρεσε: The lady cleaning the toilet was constantly on her phone on loud speaker discussing how she 'couldn't be arsed' We couldn't keep the car on our pitch - had to go in the overflow carpark

For the amount of people we had in this weekend, it went really, really well, everyone was lovely and so friendly, you can all come back again!! Unfortunately, due to the amount of people, more people equals more mess in the toilets .... Hence the grumpy cleaner, but we will have a word with her. The Oak View Team

Μου άρεσε: Good and clean facilities, the grounds are lovely and safe. The small wood is great for small children to explore, we had a lovely and relaxing time.

Δεν μου άρεσε: Would have preferred smaller pitch areas where you can have privacy. Most hiking trails are 10 minutes away by car not as nearby as we would have liked.

We are not sure what you mean about smaller pitch areas? We have one Non Electric area of seven pitches only, you were placed next to your two friends' pitches and had no one the other side of you? Also, we do have some lovely walks around this area, one being the famous North Down Walk beginning in Detling village, we do have maps in the office. The Oak View Team

Μου άρεσε: A really friendly site. Mostly families, but was quiet at night. Site was very clean. Staff were at hand and friendly. Toilet block was clean. Very dog friendly. Highly recommended.

Μου άρεσε: Location was perfect lovely setting nice pitches. The toilets and showers were clean and well appointed.

Δεν μου άρεσε: On a grass pitch cars have to be parked in the car park. WiFi coverage is patchy

Από τον διαχειριστή: Hi Jonathan, Thank you for your review, it was great meeting you and your lovely wife. The reason we do ask that you put your cars in the car park are so that 1. They do not get damaged by children playing ball etc 2. If everyone (and it was a very busy weekend) kept their cars on the grass, it would look like a carpark instead of the lovely open views you get and 3. The children wouldn't have anywhere to play. We do hope you understand the reasoning behind this and it doesn't put you off coming again. if you want to keep your car on your pitch, we suggest you book Hard Standing next time. We apologies about our Wifi, the nearer you are to reception, the better it is, it does seem dependant on how busy the Show Ground is as to how good the Wifi is. The Oak View Team

Μου άρεσε: Gravelled pitches beautifully kept - set in woodlands good dog walks. Good shower and toilet cubicles well kept. Free Wi-Fi and good tv reception.

Δεν μου άρεσε: Nothing particularly. Maybe a little more information about local area, although we managed to find some nice parks, nature reserves etc.

Μου άρεσε: Spacious pitches on this peaceful, wooded site filled with birdsong. Friendly, helpful staff and spotless toilet block.

We do have a wonderful array of different birds that visit the park including a Red Spotted Woodpecker which you can hear doing his DIY some days and you will occasionally see him landing on the grass.
