Liked: Nice sized pitch.
Disliked: Road immediatly behind pitch, only one footpath nearby for dog walks, our dogs being large did not fit through the entrance, walking the on narrow lanes too risky as large vehicles use them

Liked: Super clean showers, toilets and washing station. Friendly owner who showed us round, very clean well kept site. We had a fully serviced pitch and hard standing. Very peaceful and quiet and the stream was great for the dogs. Dog friendly Pub 2 minutes walk away!

Liked: Small, cozy campsite, pub 2 mins walkaway, river is brilliant for a paddle, great spot, lots of lovely places near by, closest beach in about 20 mins drive
Disliked: Coin operated system for showers, washing machine and dryer. If not paid for full cycle for the use of washing machine the next person will find a puddle of dirty water in there.

Liked: We had a lovely pitch right next to the stream. Really peaceful.
Disliked: Toilets lovely and clean. Showers need work & Disabled toilet wasn’t good. attention needed. The website said Clubhouse, bar & Restaurant but there was none. I spoke to a couple staying with their Son and they left early due to there not being what they stated on the website.

Liked: We liked the dog that the people had next to us.
Disliked: The man who works in there who come in the female showers whilst I was in there, without warning. The washing up tap fell off in my hand, communication was awful, they haven't worked out how to answer a phone or how to reply to an email. Location was great if you like driving around country lanes with idiots who can't drive. Pubs are awful took ages driving from pub to pub to find food where we didn't need to book .

Liked: The location right next to the river Irt was lovely. Good walks directly from the campsite to Nether Wasdale and onto the lake. Good pub really close by. 50p for a 10 minute shower was good value, just bring 50p’s with you. Andy the site manager was very helpful & friendly and made us feel welcome.
Disliked: The pitch 16 was right next to the river but the grass had worn right down to just hard soil. Probably because it’s a popular place to pitch a tent and nearly always one on there. Price for a non electric/ electric pitch was the same. Not sure why this is? The non electric pitches are away from the river bank and slightly inclined. The communal fridge was unusable and needs to be taken to the nearest dump (health hazard). The freezer wasn’t much better but adequate for putting ice blocks in.

Liked: The campsite is very very nice, secluded, out of the way in middle of nowhere , not too big just right size ,also Andy the guy who works there was extremely friendly & helpful with information,
Disliked: My only gripe, is why they charge you for dogs, yet do not provide dog bins or dog exercise area, what are you actually getting for your £35 per week each ???

Liked: The site is set out really well. All facilities are within a short distance of all pitches. The facilities are a little dated, but more than sufficient and well maintained .We had no complaints at all. The manager of the site (Andy) lives in one of the caravans permanently. He was super friendly, remembered all of our names from the start and greeted us constantly throughout the day. Really nice guy. It's nice that he lives on site and will put a stop to any nonsense should it arise. I can't sing his praises enough. He was also helpful in speaking about local places to visit. It was great to know he was on hand all the way through our stay, and seemed super helpful and chatty whenever he passed our pitch. The location is fab. It's a little out of the way but we like that. The river running through the site is so calming and lovely to sit at at any time of the day. Our dog took daily dips. Our 2 yeah old pottered around in it with his shoes off. It is relatively shallow but lovely. Our 2 year old was more than happy kicking his ball around. And our fellow camping neighbours all across the site were a lovely bunch of people. We will definitely revisit in the future. Even though we stayed with our toddler and it was great, I would say this site is definitely more suited to couples wanting a good base for walks and hikes, and a nice relaxing break. The pitches are well maintained and the majority are really flat. Very dog friendly!
Disliked: It's not a deal breaker, but the WiFi on site is definitely on the unreliable side. It didn't bother me but it did bother my other half. We had pre downloaded shows for our toddler in times of need so that was fine. But if you intend to stay connected to the world whilst away, you may struggle not only on this site, but in the whole area.
