Liked: Absolutely everything. The whole site was spotless, good size pitches with space between them. Peaceful and stunning views. Friendly owners who were around if you needed them but not in your face. We will definitely be back.

Disliked: Nothing at all

Acorn Pod camping pod

Liked: Stayed for one night two adults, teenager and dog in the acorn pod. The scenery was beautiful and the site lovely and quiet. The pod had everything you needed and was spacious compared to others we have stopped in. The local village wasn’t far to walk to where we had a drink at the pub.

Liked: Love the layout and being surrounded by fields and animals. Our second visit here on hard standing with my sister and niece in the camping field. Great place if you're a dog owner.

Acorn Pod camping pod

Liked: This wonderful little campsite in the Ribble valley has easy access to Clitheroe for shops and its amenities, but also to the beautiful rolling countryside of Bowland. The open views over the valley and Pindle Hill provide a scenic and peaceful backdrop to your camping/caravanning experience. It provides a useful base to explore this part of Lancashire which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Set on a traditional working sheep farm above the river the camping has either having electric pitches near the wash house or no electric pitches in the adjacent field. Most pitches are level and free draining. This site provides basic facilities (wash house/showers/toiletries) and our children were free to play and explore the area. We holiday with a range of field games for entertainment to make use of the open spaces. As always holidays are never long enough and we intend to come back with bikes, boots and compasses to explore the lanes and tracks within Bowland and Ribblesdale.

Acorn Pod camping pod

Liked: Delightful campsite, remote but roads leading to it are fine. High end garden centre and gastro pub in the nearby village. Pod was spotless, well equipped, it had everything you can possibly need. Bed was comfortable. Underfloor heating was very handy, even in May. Plenty of nature to observe and a few places within 20 minutes drive. Clitheroe was very nice. Hosts were accommodating and friendly. Can’t recommend enough.

Liked: Nice sized hardstanding pitch. Toilets clean and showers nice and hot. The Coach and Horses, a fifteen minute walk away does lovely food with a nice selection of wines. Owner came for a chat, very friendly. Only there for two nights, for a birthday celebration, so not able to check out local walks etc.
