Silver powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Friendly staff on arrival, We stayed at pitch 8 hard standing with electric.which was the lower field, which is away from the main camping fields, ideal if you like it a bit quiet. View of lots of trees & birds & eagles flying around. We had a little water running for the fish by us. Not a problem at all. Didn’t keep us awake at night.. Liked having our own area with picnic table. Lovely places to walk from site. Great farm shop short walk away. Friendly locals.

Disliked: Nothing to do with the site. Just the Animals that stayed Saturday night. I mean humans— The toilets in the morning were absolutely disgusting. Not flushed mess everywhere. Luckily we had our motorhome

Liked: Brilliant suroundings and we were greeted by the owners at the gate of their campsite with details. No fuss whatsoever. Quiet, relaxing and just what you want for a quiet break. Faultless. Definitely recommend. 10/10

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Quiet, lovely campsite. 2 fields plus individual pitches. Ok showers which cost £1 5mins. Victor was helpful and friendly. Open fires. Low light pollution. Bus stop to Devizes or Salisbury right outside site.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: The camp site was quiet (pre half-term) and they kindly upgraded us to a better spot (with no extra charge). Lovely quiet camp site. Clean toilet faculties. Outdoor cooking/cleaning area which had a microwave. We walked to the local pub and had a lovely meal! Easy to find, 5 min drive to Stonehenge. We went to Paultons Park which was about 45 minutes away.

Disliked: Washing machine and dryer instructions weren’t clear and washing machine needs repairing! Not a massive problem but I wouldn’t have used it and spent around £4-5 for wet soapy clothes if I knew it wasn’t working. There were no signs.. I will ask in future The showers cost a £1 for 5 minutes

Liked: The drive out…

Disliked: Pitch was only just big enough for the van, I have a Crafter that was hanging out the front of the pitch. I booked an electric pitch, only for there to be no electric. No WiFi as stated. Out of the 3 toilets available for males - 2 had broken locks and toilet paper was in very short supply of present at all. You have to pay for one of the worst showers I’ve had on a campsite. There was a water feature right next to the van that ran all night. The warden’s just seemed very rude, made more noise than any other campers on site and very unorganised.

Liked: Friendly welcome. It wasn't very busy for our short stay, therefore it was lovely and quiet. Well maintained grounds and pitch. Not much road noise. Easy to find. Super walks nearby and a short walk to the local pub.

Disliked: Check-in area could be improved for easier manoeuvring. Ladies shower cubicle needs updating.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: this is our second time staying here. Really friendly gentleman booking everyone in. toilets and showers all really clean. Most of the pitches are flat however there are some that you will need your levelling ramps for. Close to stonehenge and 2 pubs. Small shop on site

Disliked: Every couple of hours we got a strong smell of sewage. We were on the pitches right near the toilets.

Local attractions

No need to spend aeons introducing the main attractions near this park… the Stonehenge site is just miles away and nearby Avebury contains the biggest stone circle in Europe. Other historical highlights nearby include Longleat, Stourhead Gardens and the medieval Salisbury Cathedral, over 400 feet high and with Europe’s oldest working clock. The county of Wiltshire as a whole has heaps to keep all ages and interests occupied, from the Longleat Safari & Adventure Park to stately homes such as the Queen Anne Monpresson House. Further afield but still within easy reach, World Heritage historyheads can also take a trip to the historic city of Bath to gawk at the Georgian architecture or get Darcy-like at the Jane Austen Centre (have a proper English tea at the Pump Room afterwards). Or there’s Bristol with the famous SS Great Britain and the award-winning At-Bristol interactive science centre, voted one of the top 10 family attractions in the country. Nature types should trip along to the New Forest and its guided walks on the wildlife and landscape, year-round events including country shows and carnivals, cycle and horse riding trails, forest villages and seaside towns.
