Tall Pines powered gravel RV campsite

Liked: Great location and facilities on site. The check in process was straightforward and friendly. All of the facilities were is the same area near reception, hot showers, toilets, dishwashing, toilet disposal, water fill up and grey water. The shop in reception had what we needed plus we called at a Co-op just before we arrived which had plenty of parking and easy enough to navigate with a motorhome, because it was quite quiet. The walk to loch Lomond was under 10 minutes away from the site and it was absolutely stunning. It dog friendly, which is definitely what we needed. The walks were beautiful and peaceful.

Conic View powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked: Very quiet site. Nicely laid out (we were in the ‘Conic View’ section. Easy access to facilities which were clean. One of the few sites with proper grey water disposal facilities for MoHo’s - if only other sites had this proper facility. Plots were reasonably spacious. Reception staff were pleasant and helpful. Easy walk into nature reserve and loch.

Disliked: Short of a few hooks in the washroom - like so many others.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We do have plans to add more hooks to the shower area. So hopefully that will help.

Conic View powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Was good

Disliked: Being moved cors electric wire didn't conect

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We did have to change the pitch you were on as your lead was not compatible with the new style electric hook-ups. The plugs on old leads are now 5mm short therefore don't connect. This is outwith our control and I am just glad I was able to ask another lovely customer to swap pitches with you.

Tall Pines powered gravel RV campsite

Liked: Spotless showers and toilets block.

Disliked: It's not the prettiest of sites with mainly statics and no pub or shop within in walking distance.nice 10 minute stroll to the Loch which was beautiful.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. I would like to address the negative comments that you made. Firstly we do not advertise a pub or club on site or within walking distance (this is quite clearly stated in our listing). There is a shop within walking distance (less than a mile via the public right of way) which is also stated in our listing. We are a small park and to have a pub or club is not feasible.

Conic View powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked: The staff, the toilets and showers

Disliked: There was no lighting walking from the main building to the pitches, but we had torches

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We do state on our information that a torch is advisable. We keep lighting g ti a minimum as some customers find lots of lighting disturbs them.

We only stayed one night but would definitely return.

Tall Pines powered gravel RV campsite

Liked: Nice tidy site. We stated during the last night of the season so only a few people on site. Quiet rural area. Clean toilets and shower block which were kept warm. There's a small shop on site. Good size pitch with electric and water hook up.

Local attractions

This is a central base indeed… set your sights on historic Stirling (40 minutes’ drive), a city with historic credentials like a castle, The National Wallace Monument and The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre (45 minutes). The latter is based on a medieval battle location, which some of you might recognise from the film Braveheart. Of course, Glasgow (50 minutes) has more historic attractions, especially museums and impressive architecture. There are shops and theatres for those seeking a simpler kind of entertainment. Those who haven’t already tasted enough whisky in the city bars can pay a visit to the Glengoyne Distillery (20 minutes), which runs tours and tastings (including of their tasty single malt whisky). Perhaps you’re an animal fan too. There are 300-plus creatures at the Blair Drummond Safari Park (35 minutes), including giraffes and lions, and hands-on activities with the farm animals at Briarlands Farm (35 minutes).
