  • Dog-friendly site in a peaceful, rural location 15 miles from Perth
  • One-mile walk on site; 40 minutes’ drive to Tay Forest Park and Dundee
  • Secure dog park and dog classes; 10 minutes’ walk to dog-friendly pub
It’s a dog’s world at GG and Belle's… this completely dog-friendly site is all about the good times for all the family, dogs included, and you’ll soon see why. The Perthshire site has its very own secure dog park and dog classes (both available to book) and various animals that guests can meet around the site. While guests and dogs are very well tended to, the location is also what makes GG and Belle's a splendid holiday spot. The site is in a peaceful, rural patch, just 15 miles from Perth and 40 minutes’ drive from Dundee, two Scottish cities that have plenty of character, historical sites, museums and great restaurants. It's also 40 minutes’ drive from Tay Forest Park, where there are forest trails, Iron Age remains and spectacular views. For those shorter walks first thing in the morn or before bed, the site has a one-mile loop that you and your dogs can take and just 10 minutes’ walk down the road is a dog-friendly pub and restaurant when you’re raring for something to eat. Back at base, book onto one of the site’s dog classes, which include canine hoopers, obedience, canicross, bikejor and scent work. The secure dog park is available for exclusive hire and online, you’ll find the site’s shop. As for a freshening up, the site also has two self-contained toilets and showers – handy.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite (family)

Liked: Quite, secluded camping on a reasonably level grass field with an additional 4 fully enclosed fenced pitches with hard standing. Two clean and modern toilet cubicles with decent size shower cubicles. Views across the surrounding countryside with a 30 to 40 minute country lane walk into town.

Disliked: The walk into town by road, although much shorter, is not the safest route due to fast moving traffic. A separate toilet cubicle, although not a problem when we visited, would be advantagess when the site was busier.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite (adults only)

Liked: Beautiful location, tranquil with Yellowhammers and skylarks singing. Toilets and showers very nice and clean. Fenced off paddock really useful to let our dog run free.

Disliked: The drive down to the site is quite potholed, but had been prepared for this so not a massive problem

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite (adults only)

Liked: - Peaceful and quiet location - Relaxed site, just go where you like - Nice views - Lots of walks from site - Walking distance to town (although partly on narrow grass path on busy road) - Great for dog owners and non dog owners. Don't be put off if you don't have a dog. - Basic facilities, but clean and perfectly useable.

Disliked: - Access road really not suitable for caravans. Very bumpy and lots of deep pot holes. Enough to put us off coming back. - Post code/directions from pitch up take you on a detour on a really bad road. If with a caravan there is nowhere to turn around so you have to stick with it. We found Waze had accurate directions. - No reply to emailed question

Local attractions

No need to toss up between a city break and the countryside holiday here, as you’ll be within reach of two big Scottish cities from GG and Belle's and surrounded by rural landscapes for walking. In Dundee (40 minutes’ drive), potter around bookshops, visit Discovery Point (40 minutes) to see the RRS Discovery ship museum, go paddleboarding in the City Quay or unwind in a city café… With Perth (half an hour) to the south of the site, you could kayak or canoe under the city bridges along the river Tay from Willowgate Activity Centre (35 minutes) or check out the history of the 16th-century castle at The Black Watch Castle & Museum (35 minutes). Closer to the site, you won’t be short on natural beauty, such as the Kinclaven Bluebell Woods (20 minutes) or Meikleour Estate Beech Hedge (15 minutes), dubbed by Guinness World Records as the highest hedge in the world. Gin Bothy Experience (20 minutes) might also be the place for you if you’re the slightest bit interested in the history of Scottish bothies or you simply want to take some of the gin home for yourself.
