Tucked away on a rural smallholding five minutes’ drive from the village of Rrëshen in Lezhë, Kamping Lakosa is a small, family-friendly campsite with well-maintained and spacious grass pitches shaded by trees and bordering a stream. Kids will adore the fact that ducks, chicks and geese – as well as the occasional piglet – have the run of the place. The welcoming owners also run a cosy on-site bar, with informal seating where you can watch TV, and a restaurant with a menu of traditional Albanian dishes created from the fresh produce grown in their gardens. You can also settle in the sun at an alfresco eating area with a barbecue and picnic seating set among the trees. There’s a sprawling play area for younger guests right in front of the restaurant, so parents can keep an eye on their kids. Need more sporting activity? With space for everyone to have a run around, and lots of sporting gear to borrow – including tennis rackets, boules sets and ping-pong – no-one will ever be short of something to keep them amused.
