  • Family-friendly Dordogne park by the Céou river
  • A quick drive from three of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France
  • Swimming pool with waterslides, paddling pool and kids' club
Three of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France ('the most beautiful villages of France') are within a quick drive of Camping le Céou's nearest village of Saint-Cybranet in the Dordogne. And as there are only 150 or so in the whole of the country, that's mighty handy for those who like old and handsome buildings… Camping le Céou is also only 14 kilometres from Sarlat and is set by the Céou river, so is a tiptop base all round to get stuck into the culture, history and cuisine of this Dordogne river valley and Périgord Noir region. There's plenty to do on site too, such a pool with paddling pool and waterslide, a kids' club, evening entertainment, and a games and TV room. Snack and drinks are covered at the restaurant, bar, takeaway and shop. Amenities are in the toilet and shower block with hot water, baby changing facilities, a washing-up area and a launderette.

Local attractions

Those three oh-so-beautiful villages previously mentioned are all a short distance from local village Saint-Cybranet: 13th-century Domme and the riverside La Roque-Gageac, both four kilometres away, and riverside and hillside Beynac-et-Cazenac within six kilometres. It's much recommended to visit them all: you'll see why when you get there… Other top tourist attractions in the area are all easy to get to from Camping le Céou, like the Paleolithic cave paintings of the Lascaux caves complex and of the Padirac Chasm; the spectacular cliffside town Rocamadour and the town of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle. Or (and) go on a barge ride or visit the castle at Beynac, see the old town centre of Sarlat, or, further afield, get sporty with canoeing, tree climbing, paintball, climbing and hiking. An aquarium is in the town of Bugue.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Peaceful. No one there but us. Great site for seeing Domme. Good showers and wc. Clean. Was out of the main season. Probably not enough wc showers in the main season. Staff helpful.

Disliked: Nothing.

Power optional grass campsite
