Make your Mediterranean Sea abode at Résidence les Pescalunes to access the shore via a peaceful woodland path to the beaches of Agde, the Mediterranean port of the UNESCO-designated Canal du Midi. Grand Bleu Résidence les Pescalunes is a quiet holiday park in a Hérault pine forest, in gorgeously green surroundings with views over Etang de Thau and the Mediterranean Sea. It's four kilometres from the 14 kilometres of sandy beaches at Agde, the ancient French town where the Canal du Midi connects with the Hérault river. The even more ancient town of Béziers (with vineyards) is about 25 kilometres inland. Accommodation at Résidence les Pescalunes is in air-conditioned lodges, sleeping up to six. All guests have access to the site's big heated pool with paddling pool; table tennis and pétanque court.

Local attractions

Take the cycle and pedestrian path straight from the site through the pine forest to reach the riverside town and 14 kilometres of beach of Agde. Founded in 525 BC on the Hérault river, Agde is one of the oldest towns in France, and is now a popular but not overly busy tourist town known mostly for its black basalt buildings such as the 12th-century Cathedral of Saint-Etienne. You can also access watersports such as sailing, scuba diving, waterskiing, parasailing and windsurfing from here, as well as sea fishing and boat trips to spot dolphins and whales. For kids, the town has the Luna Park amusement park, Aqualand waterpark and the Aquarium Marin du Cap d'Agde, built on a coastal volcanic site. Walking and cycling are top options around this part of coast, Cap d'Agde, the banks of the Canal du Midi, the Bagnas Natural Reserve three kilometres away, and around the Etang de Thau, the biggest of the lagoons along the Languedoc coast. Within driving distance, the former Roman colony and top starting point for vineyard tours of Béziers, is 25 kilometres away, as are the harbour and Mont St-Clair in the fishing port of Sète.
