Liked: Everything! Lovely site, very clean facilities with own toilet for each pitch, good shower and in ideal location for exploring northern Lake District. Lovely walk to Bassenthwaite for great pub (The Sun) and the opposite way to Bassenthwaite Station Cafe which serves amazing breakfasts and afternoon teas. Sid, the site owner, is a kind and helpful host. Will definitely be back.

Liked: What a lovely campsite! It was a great location for an overnight stay exploring Bassenthwaite lake. The campsite itself was so lovely and peaceful, with only 5 pitches for campervans. There was a real friendly/family atmosphere. Sid, who welcomed us, was a highlight. He made us feel completely at home, and made sure we were settled. Every campsite needs a Sid! The facilities were great - this is the first campsite where we’ve had our own allocated toilet cubicle. It was also really special hearing the gibbons from the wildlife park next door calling out in the early morning. Loved our stay, couldn’t recommend enough.

Liked: Everything. Sid and Elizabeth were wonderful hosts and very attentive. Their campsite is just so secluded and quiet and perfect. The toilet block is pristine and having a dedicated toilet is a treat. Waking up to the gibbons from the nearby safari park is also a treat. We loved it. So many beautiful walks in the area too. We didn’t eat out but the Sun Inn is highly recommended. We will be back. Mabel, our dog, also loved every minute and loved the daily ear scratches from Sid. Thank you for an amazing time just when I needed it. As a librarian and an avid reader I will be sending you some books for your little library to help raise funds for the hospice. Xx
Disliked: Nothing. It was perfect.
