Liked: Eden leisure village is in a beautiful location with beautiful forest walks around you. The campsite itself was immaculately clean and very well maintained. We had no issues I messaged with Janet from the site while on route as our arrival time changed a few times and they replied promptly and appeared very happy to help.
Disliked: There was nothing we disliked about Eden leisure village and plan to return again for a longer stay

Liked: Peace and quiet. Location. Toilet and shower cleanliness.
Disliked: Distance to waste water and chemical disposal point was about 300 yards. I was exhausted when I got there with a full waste water container. I saw one person disposing of theirs in the long grass at the pitch. Some people will not be able to get to it. It says its close by in the website but it isn't. Otherwise a great stay.

From the manager: Thanks for your review and comments. We do not allow waste to be disposed off in the long grass! so thank you that you did the right thing and disposed at our grey waste area and chemical waste area. I am sorry you were exhausted. It is a 2 or 3 minute walk but I understand if you are carrying the waste it would be longer if you needed to rest and if you were on the mature side. Most people have wheeled trolley's and are able to trolley the waste to our disposable points. Also, some dispose on their way out in their vehicle. The pitch you were in was further away from the disposal point but you would have had a really good view. Next time if you came back you can request for a pitch right next to our disposal points. Half our pitches are located 200 to 300 metres away from the disposal and half are right next to it. No problem at all for you to request a pitch nearer. If we knew you were struggling we would have been able to assist you with disposal. We have a golf buggy that could have picked you up and taken you to the disposal area. We have someone on reception that could help with this from 9.15am until 4.45pm - 7 days a week. Thank you for mentioning all our good points :) and we do hope you will come back again. We will do our best to assist you in any way we can.

Liked: Beautiful views and very well looked after. Nice walk along stream into fairy Wood. Takeaways deliver. Lady on reception very nice and helpful. Kids loved swing and slide
Disliked: We felt the reaction to moving a firepit next to motorhome after buying supplies was a bit ott (we'd asked if we just take a firepit, so there seems to have been some misunderstanding). There were only 2 of us there and other van also had the same experience. The reason given was that there'd been a fire however I then realised every wooden glamping hut had one outside. There are 12 motorhome pitches and one communal firepit. Felt much more geared to glamping pods to me in comparison to other sites we stayed.

From the manager: Thanks for your review. We are sorry that you felt it was a bit over the top. The main reason is the motorhomes and caravans are in closer proximity to each other therefore more at risk of a potential fire. The motorhomes and caravans use gas where the pods don’t. We also have the fire pit on a concrete slab to catch the ashes. At the moment, having one fire pit has worked fine and should demand increase we may consider having more but would be positioned a wee bit away from the vicinity of the pitches. Sorry, that you wouldn’t visit again. We would love to have had you back. We feel that you wouldn’t recommend to friends or visit again (to use your phrase) is a little over the top.

Liked: Forest walk. Few different walks of varying lengths. Our pitch was on the end with great views and sunset. Toilets clean and modern.
Disliked: No seat in shower and only one peg. Another peg or two would be handy. No communication with reception as they provided everything via email. This is very efficient bit I feel lacks the personal touch. No WiFi

From the manager: Thanks for your review. Our site is beautiful and are told often how we have a hidden gem. We Are glad you enjoyed your stay. Obviously we don’t like negative comments but you are entitled to your opinion. We do consider and take on board all comments as we care and want (if practical) to make things better for our customers. Very often we are told how clean and spotless our site is and you mentioned this too yet you rate 6 for cleanliness. We are a little confused by this. With regards to communication we do email and we also send a text on the day of arrival to let you know your pitch number with directions and advise on the best route in. We also mention we are happy to show you around if you arrive before 5pm. We find with some customers they want to go straight to their pitch without coming to reception but we love to meet and chat with all our customers and they are always welcome to come in and see us. We also text a map of our site showing our pitch numbers and we also give mobile numbers that you can call at anytime with any questions or concerns. Anytime of the day. We reckon this is pretty good communication between emails, texts and one on one. We would love to have WiFi too. This is a frustration we have as a business being so close to major cities yet can’t get decent WiFi. We are in the country surrounded by trees which although beautiful is a challenge for internet signal. We are disappointed with your comments and feel they are unfair. Maybe this is why we feel we had to write a long comment to explain from our point of view. Thank you.

Liked: This was my first campervan trip so decided to visit my Nephew and family in Cumberland (travelling from south Nottingham) I invited one of my friends so we could test everything out… Eden was only 10 minutes from them so perfect location. But also, the facilities and overall site looked really good and had good reviews. I received a text with info and a map. The pitch was fab as it overlooked the rolling hills, was lovely to wake up to. I had a query with the electric hook up which Des sorted straight away. The Shower/toilet facilities were excellent and always clean with lovely smelling handwash and a proper hand towel! The showers were also large so plenty of room to shower. Overall an excellent stay, from cleanliness, communication, facilities and views! Will definitely be back and may try the hot tub ! There are walks from the site but we didn’t have time but when I take my dog next time we will try them. It’s close to some tourist places. The Kelpies and The Falkirk Wheel and The Falkirk Tunnel is also worth a look. Will definitely be back! (Unsure about WiFi facilities but gave 5* anyway. We just used our phones so wasn’t a problem)
