Pitch up on a gorgeous moorland field at this wild-style farm on the edge of the parish of Advent. With spectacular views over Bodmin Moor (including an interrupted outlook over Rough Tor) and vistas that stretch down to the north Cornwall coast, Moorgate Farm makes an excellent backdrop for low-key family camping breaks. Within a few minutes' drive you can be wandering through the historic streets of the market town of Camelford or striking out for strolls across the moor, where there's a wealth of impressive panoramas plus visitor highlights like Brown Willy and Jamaica Inn. The closest beach, Trebarwith Strand, is about a quarter of an hour away by road, while Tintagel, the legendary home of King Arthur, is only five minutes further away. There's plenty to see right here at the farm as well, where there's a mixture of livestock that includes goats, pigs, sheep, lambs, chickens, ducks and horses. Fresh free-range eggs can be bought from the farmers for breakfast. Because of all the animals around, any dogs staying with you must be well-behaved and kept on leads at all times. In terms of facilities, portable toilets, running water and showers are all available.
