Liked: Back to basics campsite and really lovely, albeit small. It's in a great location, with a nice 20-25 minute walk to Southerndown beach, and the owner is super friendly. The bar/restaurant just opposite is really nice too. Although there's only one shower, it worked nicely.
Disliked: Not so much "dislikes" but "Areas for Improvement": The campsite has a lot of pitches for the available space, and the photos can be a bit misleading. While we are dog people, some campers might not be, and we noticed a few dogs were left unsupervised and were relieving themselves around the site, including next to our tent. This isn't ideal, especially with children playing and running around. It might be helpful to clearly designate the separate field as advertised for campers with dogs, we were under the impression one existed but we couldn't see one. The electrical and fridge facility was locked up most of the time, which posed challenges for some campers with babies or toddlers who had specific needs. To address any concerns about children accessing these facilities, a pincode lock could be provided to adults upon booking, ensuring that the facilities are secure yet accessible. On our first night, the toilet lights weren't working, so we had to use a torch. Additionally, the advertised WiFi wasn't available during our stay. Given these issues, the price of £33 per night felt a bit high. It might be worth considering a price adjustment if certain facilities aren't available or functioning. We also found that the only phone network that seems to work consistently in the area is EE. Overall, these are constructive observations intended to help improve the experience. We would definitely consider staying again if these points were addressed.

From the manager: Thank you for your comments but the 6/10 is a little harsh. We have no control over our Wi-Fi/ coverage but all major providers network are fine & the pub has Wi-Fi for everyone

Liked: This was our second visit to Pool Farm. The campsite is lovely and the farmer is a pleasant, friendly man. He came round to greet us on arrival and came over for a few chats over the weekend. The toilets and shower are very well kept. A lovely place for a camping weekend. We will definitely return

Liked: Quiet location
Disliked: They had available fridge to put food in which went missing on day 2. It was gluten free and I had to go and find some more breakfast.

From the manager: l understand your disappointment following the disappearance of your breakfast but it is left at their own risk & we are not responsible for anything left or taken especially from the refrigerators. Many phones & tablets have been left to recharge without incident. We are surprised there was no positive comments of our location to the village pub & the scenic foot path to the beach, the well kept site & especially the standard of cleanliness of the toilets and shower We are always available for any issues that arise but this was not brought to our attention

Liked: We stayed in the camp with our 2 children aged 7 & 8, and puppy. Very welcoming, excellent location, enjoyable walk to the beach, puppy loved the dog camping field to socialise (as did the kids). Nice pub opposite the camp. Children really enjoyed the ‘Milk Hut’ opposite the camp for milkshakes. All clean and tidy, would return again… thank you for having us:)
