Liked: Small, rural and relaxing campsite where you could choose your pitch! Showers were great, hot and brilliant pressure (don’t forget to grab your tokens from reception) loos were clean (although slightly limited, but never caused me an issue) Served as the perfect one night stopover for me and I enjoyed my time here far more than my other car enthusiasts I was meeting who opted for a tatty old Travelodge!

Liked: Beautiful surroundings, lovely countryside working farm, the huge field not only had plenty of space, some picnic benches available but the stables were made into a unisex shower block, I loved the £1 tokens for a 3 minute shower, this not only saved water and energy but made the showering quicker, all was kept very clean and tidy. The owners have really thought about everything, with the recycling, freezer for ice packs and books for sale in the shower block. Only stayed 1 night but we will be back. The local pub The Globe was also a lovely atmosphere, they had a beautiful garden, food was fantastic and landlord was very nice and friendly. This was a short walk down the lane to the main road. We were very lucky with the weather which also helped us enjoy our time at Beanhill Farm. Thank you The owner was very friendly and her dogs 🐶
Disliked: I have put 3 stars for Wi-Fi as there was none and we got no signal on either of our phones which I quite enjoyed but we couldn’t play any background music.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked: Lovely quiet site away from busy roads. Very clean toilet block. Was worried about showers but found they were powerful and very warm. I had two and they both lasted around 3 minutes with a 2 second warning they are going off. Found this more than enough without washing hair. Shame nowhere to wash at sink though (as communal toilet/ showers) with no privacy, and showers too hot for my young kids. Not a problem - they were happy to have a a few days without washing! Nepalese restaurant in neighbouring village very good. Also highly recommend sculpture trail and Chepstow castle (be sure to watch sword and archery shows).
Disliked: Not a dislike, but due to all heavy rain field was quite wet and had to be careful not to get stuck. Saw one van get towed out & some wheel spinning but all okay. Field on a slope so if it’s been raining just make sure you can drive out without going uphill!

Primitive grass campsite
Liked: Quiet lane location. Toilet/washing area
Disliked: I felt a bit hemmed in. You could park where you wanted, but as all outside pitches taken, I felt a bit uncomfortable parking in the middle. From the photos I thought you could walk around the lake. There was no where to walk the dog. There were a lot of private signs around the field - and if there were any access to woods, fields or the lake it wasn't clear. The toilets were clean - didn't use the showers so can't comment. - families seem to be enjoying themselves which was nice. I booked for 3 nights and stayed 1, only because it just wasn't for me.

From the manager: Sorry it wasn’t for you, there are 2 private signs - 1 on each gate. We are a working farm and have cattle that graze around different parts of the farm. The campsite offers lots of space and lovely views and there are lots of places to walk from the campsite with your dog without upsetting the cattle.

Liked: The site itself was lovely and quiet and well located for attractions.
Disliked: The showers and toilets were not as clean as I have experienced at other sites. It was disappointing that after paying £1.00 for a shower token I was not able to vary the temperature and try as I might, I was not able to complete my shower with one token and two tokens were too much. I would recommend showering in pairs if possible. Although the local pubs looked nice they were very busy and we could not get a table over our two night stay. I would recommend booking in advance. We went on a bank holiday weekend and the site was not overly crowded which was lovely. You can park where you like which worked well for us on our visit. Overall it is a lovely site that could be improved with more user-friendly facilities.

From the manager: Thanks for the comments… showering in pairs could work for some 🥴
