Powered grass tent campsite

Liked: The people were very friendly and welcoming. The site is located close to Alton Towers and the stunning countryside.

Disliked: The kitchen / washing up area is a sink attached to the back of a pub. It is open to the elements so if you are in a tent and its raining your are getting wet. The toilets and showers are via a portable unit which I assume is taken away at the end of the season. There is no freezer for your ice packs despite the description on the website. The campsite is the pubs overflow car park situated next to a main road. They do give you earplugs on arrival though.

Liked: The play area was fabulous for the age of our children. Also, food and drinks in the pub on site were great value. Showers and toilets kept clean too.

Disliked: Little bit noisy by the road but we’re given ear plugs by the hosts which really helped

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Nice walks to local village. Kids playground was handy.

Disliked: Pitches are very very close to each other, hard to sit out without being really close to other campers. Also very loud camped next to a road.

Fifteen minutes' drive away at Stoke-on-Trent, The Potteries ceramics centre has over 20 pottery factory shops as well as award-winning museums, visitor centres, factory tours and a ceramics trail.
